trixbox 2.8.0 RC2 and trixbox 2.6.2.3 RC1 released today

The latest release of FOP contained mostly just fixes for Asterisk 1.6 compatibility. I tried it briefly with an older Trixbox version after manually updating the asterisk to 1.6, and it seemed to work fine. I can't remember all of the details right now, but off the top of my head, I think what I did was:

__Go to the asternic.org site and click on the Download tab.

__Download op_panel-0.30.tar.gz

__Extract the archive and copy the op_server.pl and operator_panel.swf files to the
__/var/www/html/panel directory.

__Issue a "killall op_server.pl" command at the linux console to restart the panel.

__Close and reopen the browser that's being used to access the panel.

Perhaps you've tried this already and found problems. If not, give it a try.

Bug description
installed hudlite-server via install-hudlite
hudlite-server didnt start.
hudlite-admin spit a lot of errors, but the first one was "unable to write to /etc/asterisk/hud", directory which indeed was missing

Fix:
mkdir /etc/asterisk/hud ; chown asterisk.asterisk /etc/asterisk/hud
service hudlite-server start now worked
hudlite-admin lists extensions

http://pbx/maint/index.php?astInfo is still using zap show channels while asterisk 1.6 now wants dahdi show channels
The file to be changed is /var/www/html/maint/modules/asterisk_info/asterisk_info.php line 72 from

"Zaptel driver info"=> array("type" => 'ami', "command" => "zap show channels"),
to
"Dahdi driver info" => array("type" => 'ami', "command" => "dahdi show channels"),

WHen running setup-pstn it fails to create dahdi-auto.conf as simbolic link to dahdi-channels.conf because dahdi-auto.conf already exists as plain file. The consequence is dahdi channels are not loaded
Removing dahdi-auto.conf and recreating as simoblic link, works

I thought to try Trixbox 2.8 - and am impressed that DHADI has detected my B410p ISDN card out of the box.

However, the web GUI seems messed up majorly? I've installed twice to make sure, and
this is some of what I'm seeing on a Dell Dimension 1100. Does this happen for anyone else? Let me know if I can help further.

I've been installing 2.6.2.2 and 2.6.2.3 today trying to fix the ISDN / MixMonitor bug that still seems to be around from Asterisk 1.4.22. Apart from ISDN recording still not working - they basically installed fine [Issue should be fixed in Asterisk 1.4.23]. I could not get mISDN to install though after several various attempts.

I had this problem on 2.6.2.2 too. After many tryes and resinstallations with many options, I changed my USB keyboard to PS2 keyboard an reinstall the system. Now it works fine. I think there is a problem with drivers and new linux kernel. Regards..

I just want to thank you for all you are doing. Is nice to see Asterisk 1.6 working in Trixbox. What we are getting is free... again thank you all you are doing!!!!!

Thanks for all your help on testing everybody. Here are a few quick notes.

1. If somebody can do some more testing on FOP with Asterisk 1.6 that would be great. It won't be in 2.8. But it'll try to get a FOP package in the repo soon.

2. Hudlite won't work with 2.8. I think I already posted this. It should work with 2.6.2.3.

3. Thanks for the other small bug fixes. They will be in the release.

The new 2.8.0-RC2 image as well as the 2.6.2.3-RC1 candidate has been added to the tribox.leadmon.net archive

You can access the images vi rSync, FTP, or HTTP.

Can we please get a newer asterisk version for 2.6.2.3? It is currently the same Asterisk version 1.4.22 that has been out since 10-1-2008, they are almost ready to release v1.4.26!

Since hudlite doesn't work in 2.8, we cannot upgrade to that yet.

I agree with the desire and need for an upgrade from 1.4.22 please -- this nasty ISDN Call Recording bug seems to have been fixed in 1.4.23+?

I retried installing 2.8 RC2 _without_ the B410p card installed -- and the installation and GUI seem to work much better. I will look forward to trying the full 2.8 release with the B410p inserted after the software install! It will be great to have a new Trixbox with nice ISDN support and call recording back again.

I just installed 2.8.0.3 - and HudLite work now ! Great

Just installed a new 2.8.0.3, yum update, etc, installed hudlite-server and hudlite-admin, server states it is started, extensions in hudlite admin, still no connection with hudlite on desktop computer...
It worked perfectly fine in 2.6.2.3, and has been my basis for not upgrading.
I read the above post and decided to jump.

What info shall I further provide for troubleshooting hudlite?

HUD does not work with trixbox 2.8. We are working on a version that does but it will not be released for some time. For now you need to be running 2.6 or trixbox PRO to get HUD working.
