How to upgrade from v2.6.1
That is great to hear, good job getting this out finally! When should we except a migration path from 2.6.1 to 2.6.2? I would expect to find this via the package manager and/or yum update soon?
Thanks!

There are missing packages
There are missing packages on the 'trixbox-stable' and 'trixbox-addon' repositories :(
[trixbox1.localdomain ~]# yum install asterisk-devel
Resolving Dependencies
--> Running transaction check
---> Package asterisk-devel.i386 0:1.4.21.2-2 set to be updated
--> Processing Dependency: asterisk = 1.4.21.2-2 for package: asterisk-devel
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Missing Dependency: asterisk = 1.4.21.2-2 is needed by package asterisk-devel
[trixbox1.localdomain ~]# rpm -q asterisk
asterisk-1.4.22-2
This shows that the installed version of asterisk is 1.4.22-2 yet the asterisk-devel version on the repositories is out of date and does not match 1.4.22-2
Without asterisk-devel I cannot compile my CAPI drivers for my Eicon Diva ISDN cards! :(
I also need php-ldap:
[trixbox1.localdomain ~]# yum install php-ldap
Resolving Dependencies
--> Running transaction check
---> Package php-ldap.i386 0:5.2.2-3 set to be updated
--> Processing Dependency: php-common = 5.2.2-3 for package: php-ldap
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Missing Dependency: php-common = 5.2.2-3 is needed by package php-ldap
[trixbox1.localdomain ~]# rpm -q php-common
php-common-5.2.5-7
This shows that the installed version of php-common is 5.2.5-7 but the php-ldap version is out of date.
Without php-ldap our trixbox server cannot talk to our Active Directory server.
Thanks everyone

Migration packages will be available within the next few days, we wanted to make sure there werent any issues with the packages.
As for the repos, same as the last issue, we wait until we release the stable ISO and make sure everything is good before pushing out the packages. It should all be there within the next couple of days at the most.
Same ISO size between RC1 and full release?
I noticed the file size between the two ISO images are exactly the same, was there any changes that effected the image, or did you just rename the image and upload it?
Sangoma drivers?
I'm not touching this thing till someone confirms that Sangoma (WANPIPE) drivers are included and up to date.
broke?
I cant even get it to boot to install... After picking US and it probes for video it just sits at a blue background... So dont know if this has an issue or what..
There was one small cosmetic
There was one small cosmetic change between RC1 and final, it was so small it did not change the disk image size.
Sangoma and Rhino drivers are both available.
Cybercare, did any previous versions work on that same hardware?
Alpha & Beta Repo's
Kerry,
Wouldn't it be best to put 2.6.2 into the Trixbox Devel or Trixbox Beta Repo ASAP, so we can all test, isn't that the purpose of it, to have the version that currently up for testing? I do not want to create more work for you, and if we need to wait a couple days no big deal, but would be nice to have a way to upgrade before the new year, in the devel(Alpha) or beta repo. I believe having newer packages on these two repos was the initial intent, and hopefully it will be used more often in the future.

kerryg,
The other versions worked fine on this hardware with the exception of network and audio drivers not included... But this one wont even load far enough for me to find out if that is even included now. :( I posted on forum but got no reply also.

After fresh install of trixbox CE 2.6.2, I tried to install sangoma drivers and I get these errors
Error: Missing Dependency: libtinfo.so.5 is needed by package wanpipe-util
Error: Missing Dependency: zaptel = 1.4.11-1 is needed by package wanpipe-modules-2.6.18-53.1.4.el5
The installed version of zaptel is 1.4.12.1-1, which means that wanpipe-modules is looking for an earlier version of it.
Any ideas?
VMware Download
Thanks a lot for trixbox CE 2.6.2 :)
When will the VMware appliance be available for download??
I am looking forward for it, as my new ESX server on Dell PE2950 is waiting for it :)
Thanks
Sangoma Cards
I installed the 2.6.2 and can not get the wanpipe drivers installed. It appears that the zaptel version is newer than what wanpipe is looking for and fails on dependencies. Any ideas what needs to be done to get back up and running??
** Help ** after update
I ran yum update tonight after rebooting the system I only get the grub screen and a grub prompt.. it looks like the update hosed the kernel boot or ??.. I am stuck. I had the latest before the update, everything worked fine..
This Sucks
I can't believe that update hosed my system.. don't have time to play around so I guess I'll try to install and hope my backups work..

Upon trying to boot on the 2.6.2.1 ISO the system hangs when it accesses the HD.. the system is in raid mode. I booted the previous stable and it has no problem.

Where are the Sangoma drivers?
Anyone do a yum update for this?
It seems that this update is now available via yum update. Is it safe besides the person reporting a boot lockup? Anyone actually done the update from a 2.6.1x box? I see updates such as * 1.4.22-2 , zaptel 1.4.12.1-1 , trixbox 2.6.2.1-2 etc. I'm running a Rhino RCB4FXO and it must work after the update.
on a happy note it was nice to see the box get the leap second update:
Clock: inserting leap second 23:59:60 UTC
Safe ???
It might be safe as long as your not running raid, did you read my post.. I was up all night doing a complete reinstall of everything back to the previous release after running the yum update, now I'm having DTMF problems and had to go inband because that Asterisk version has some kind of bug in it (I'm told there is a patch somewhere). So apparently nobody tested the yum update with raid systems or even the new ISO. After yum uodate here was my new Trixbox prompt GRUB >

Honestly guys, get a copy of a drive imaging tool !
Before I do ANY major version updates, I take a disk image of my TB box.
If it fails, I just roll it back. it takes 4-5 mins (actually I think its less) but this would depend on how much data you have on your HD.
I use True Image Home which lets you even save the image onto a machine on your network do you dont need to use an external HD or anything.
I really think you guys should invest some $$ ($49 for True Image Home) and save a WHOLE lot of time and if you are working for your self, time= money !
Just a thought :-)

Of course. But I ask anyway just in case it is a repeatable problem and I might avoid an upgrade and then a certain restore back.
yes running raid and yes I read your post. But a single report of trouble does not a bug make...
again, that's why I ask for confirmation.
Backup
I do backups nightly and luckily I had one last night but I still had to resinstall, I have not had good luck with image backups of mirrored raid systems. I am not used to needing to do a complete backup for a yum update that is supposed to be stable. In the future I'll be less trusting..

VMware appliance download again
Can somebody give me an idea when will the VMware appliance be ready for download .
Thanks a lot again
Drive Imaging...
Does True Image Home allow you to remotely image the drive or do you have to install the drive in the machine with True Image Home installed?
Trixnet
Are there any whitepapers for the trixnet when it is active and how do we get those links?
True Image Home supports
True Image Home supports TCP/IP, USB, CD/DVD and something else I forget now, so what you can do is using the bootdisk wizard that comes with True Image Home, create a bootable USB drive, plug it in, reboot the TB (making sure the USB is turned on in your bios), and it will boot of the usb drive.
I then do a full backup, but point it to a server machine on my network where it saves the file.
If I want to restore a backup, I just point to the file on a server on my network.
The enterprise version lets you install an agent on the TB machine so that it can take images without doing the above, but thats a bit more expensive.
Oh,the enterprise version also lets you take a True Image image file and turn it into a VMWare machine or MS Virt machine which is pretty cool.
Jeremy
@Jeremy: true image (off topic)
@Jeremy
Are you sure that the enterprise version of True Image can convert Linux machines to VMware Machines?? Because even VMware own Converter cannot yet do that, it can only convert Windows machines.

adabbas
yes I am 100% sure. 1. I
yes I am 100% sure.
1. I have done it, and 2, not only can it do VMWare, VMWare ESX Server, MS Virt machine, but also Parallels and XenServer.

RAID problem
It would be great to see some kind of discussion of the obvious problem with the new ISO and yum update on RAID installs.
Network drivers missing
In TB 2.6.1.13 there was drivers for Realtek 8101, 8168 and 8169 (r8101.ko, r8168.ko, r8169.ko) in new 2.6.2.1 there is only r8169.ko, which is installing in kernel for R8168 chipset NIC (Intel ATOM 330 MainBoard - D945GCLF2) but not working. Driver from TB 2.6.1.13 works fine.

I tried to update via yum and it failed with:

Ditto
I have tried to just upgrade the Asterisk package because of the raid problem and I am also getting the same error, I was hoping to upgrade everything but the kernel package but no luck so far. The previous version of Asterisk on the previous ISO has a know bug with RFC2833 so I was hoping to get a newer version.
Fax problem on fresh install...

Is the fax support disable in the 2.6.2.1 release ?

For what its worth I had a 2.6.0.7 box that had been updated to whatever version a few months back, I just ran
yum update --exclude=tbm-pbxconfig --exclude=trixbox
and everything still seems to work.

In my case I want it to leave the kernel alone but I'm afraid that some of the dependency's for the Trixbox install are in the kernel update and I don't want to mundge up the install.
No app_rxfax.so, here either!
Any idea when we might have an update that includes rxfax or some alternative? I have a production Trixbox CE system with no inbound fax capability.
I second fax capability.
I second fax capability. Need it badly.

please post a bug if something is not working. I don't always see problem reported in a comment. I am working on Fax now.
looks like a distro issue
... I hope, anyway.
I got my inbound fax working by pulling the app_rxfax.so (and several other files) from an earlier distro. I am sure Kerry would slap my wrists for this, but it is working!
I'm more interested in
I'm more interested in hearing about fundamental problems such as upgrading a sataraid box. I'm not confident enough that it really is an issue to post a bug and not yet prepared to try an upgrade to find out. The test box updated fine but it isn't raid and doesn't have a Rhino card that the prod box has.
So are there any reports other than the one in this thread about sataraid upgrades (via yum update) being a problem? Or upgrades to sataraid boxes that are perfectly fine?
I did a sata raid upgrade
I did a sata raid upgrade here and it worked fine. I'll try a few more to make sure.
Sangoma Wanpipe Modules
Are the wanpipe-modules going to be added to the repo soon?

Hi Zuint - A more appropriate solution was posted by Andrew
Do a search on his posting titled -
"FAX support in 2.6.2.1"
He describes the yum update (and other steps) required to get the fax capability installed and working.
Thanks, Andrew.
SATA RAID Issues
I had all kinds of problems with YUM update on SATA RAID over the weekend. I was deploying a new box and only had a ISO copy of 2.6.1. Installed that 3 times then YUM update, and every time it just rebooted to a GRUB command line. Installed 2.6.1 a fourth time and left it there. (I had previously had problems with the 2.6.13 and 2.6.11 ISOs so I decided to use the 2.6.1 ISO. I should have probably downloaded the 2.6.2 ISO and used that, but that is now hindsight.)
Packages
I have installed the new distribution of Trixbox. Everything went smoothly except that I can't download the packages list. When I try I get:
Error: the XML response that was returned from the server is invalid.
Received:
The page then hangs and nothing else happens. Can anyone throw some light on this please?
Same problem with package list and same error message
I am getting the same problem with the package list failing to show with the same error message
Getting same error and messages with package list also
Seems that there is a problem!!! No packages displayed, Error returned: the XML response that was returned from the server isinvalid. Received:
Could there be a problem with the server?
I think I'll hold off doing
I think I'll hold off doing an upgrade from 2.6.1.13. The odds don't look very good that there won't be an issue with something and I don't need an all nighter to get it back to square one. Wake me up once the politics settles down and the code is fixed. Meanwhile I'll help other users wherever I can.
Yum Update from command line fixes XML error
Hi,
I sometimes get an error when loading the packages, I just drop to the command line and run yum update from it, then I can go in and load the packages screen. You do not have to actually install the updates via yum, so yum clean all and yum makecache might do it too.
It is also said by going into the Repo setting and unchecking the stable and addons then saving and checking them again fixes issues too.
Also Andrew needs to put in 2.6.2-stable in the Bug Tracker, so we can properly tell you what version we are using when creating bug reports!
How can I copy r8101 driver
How can I copy r8101 driver from TB 2.6.1.13 to install it on 2.6.2.1? can you help me?
After a yum update my atom baser trixbox is completely KO.
Many tanks for any help, Alberto.
Atom and r8101E driver
To get the Atom box to work this is what I did.
Grab a USB key drive.
Go into the BIOS and disable the card and reboot.
Once running download the driver from and copy to USB key drive. I guess this is why they gave those away at the FTOCC class.
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?ProductID=2916&D...
Compile the driver by following the directions in the file downloaded.
Remove the r8169 driver completely, this is the reason that this and all other r8169 based systems will not boot the iso.
reboot into the bios and enable the card.
Pray..
I pointed this issue out months ago to everyone when I still worked on this project. This is one of the main reasons that I would not update the kernel since this module was completely borken in a lot of distros. Here is a link from Intel that shows which distros have issues with this driver. Try booting a standard CentOS 5.2 disk on a r8169/r8101/etc.. based system and see what happens. It will kernel panic, just like the new 2.6.2 iso will.

misdn_chan problem installing..
Hi, I have had problems installing misdn.
It would come up with dependency issues for asterisk_misdn_chan
I was following the wiki instructions..
I installed all but asterisk_misdn_chan, then downloaded the rpm fro the repo, and used rpm to install it. No issues. Testing it now..

Sangoma Wanpipe Drivers Loading just fine...
I upgrade to this using the following procedure (note that I have an A200 AND A500 Both cards with Hardware EC modules) - all BRI, Analog lines (including Hylafax with iaxmodem) are working perfectly.
One caveat with the sangoma Multi-board setup I have - sometimes crashes Centos on restart. to avoid this I do the following :-
in asterisk - "stop now"
at linux prompt :- wanrouter stop

rpm -e (the UTIL one first)

yum -y update
shutdown -r now (now wait for the reboot - this ensures a clean install for sangoma stuff)
switch to the directory that contains the new rpms and enter:

Many thanks for your help.
I have understood the problem, I tried to do make clean modules, but discovered that there no source code installed for the new kernel.
So I can't compile the driver.
Can I download it from somewhere in trixbox site?
Alberto
Sorry - not sure
Not sure really about the source- but the current kernel supports the downloads I have posted - you should not require the source - Sangoma are very proactive when Kerry puts out a new version. Sangoma were absolutely amazing for support when I first got my A200 and A500 cards in the new Dell R200 1RU Server (untested combination)... they compiled 3 new linux RPMs in a single week for me upon my unusual request.... probably a bit much to expect generally... but ring them and ask for assistance... they are the most amazing support company... if you have a Sangoma card, they support it to incredible lengths... never seen anything like it. They define the standard for support and are simply amazing. Konrad goes above and beyond his job and just keeps working beyond business hours..... I cant compliment them enough.

Package Manager
Just tried it this morning and packages came up as normal. I guess this might have been a server problem.
Sangoma support
I agree, I cannot say enough good about Sangoma's support. I have never seen a company go as far as they do and continue to be polite, no matter how stupid my questions are. I will only buy thier product!!!! Set really do set the standard!

Previous versions of Trixbox are worked fine on that hardware.

i think that will only be available in CE3 or am i mistaken?
Is it me or is there an issue with the ISO?
I downloded 2.6.2.1 and went to install. It installs, completes, but fails to boot.
Ends up in Grub. When in grub, I check for partitions, and there are none. ???
Normally when installing Centos it of course asks you if you want to create
partitions, etc, but not this iso. This one seems to bypass the partition, does
a format, full install. Reboot dumps to grub. ???
Anyone try to install on a new drive with no partitions?

no way upgrade from 2.6.1?
I tried to use "yum updatea", "yum upgrade" or packages upgrade in GUI, but all return up-to-date already. But packages versions are still 2.4. Meanwhile in a fresh box, they are 2.5
Can anyone show the way to upgrade to the latest version please?
Thanks.
install libtds.so.5
you issue this command:
yum install libtds.so.5
And it will install the package "freetds i386 0.64-11.el5.centos extras"
I had exact error, and things were okay afterward.
