Hello, I want to share my experience with Trixbox CE. Recently i bought a new "Net to Phone adapter" from Linksys ($60). Created an extension in trixbox & assigned all the relevant details as like a VoIP Phone. Then connected my Net to phone adapter in to my network - configured the created extension in that.

Now connected my FAX machine in to the net to phone adapter. Thats amazing, now my FAX machine is working fine.

I'm using ISDN-PRI line. My trixbox is connected with Sangoma A102D card.

That's Great

That's great and thanks for sharing. But, it would have been better if you had told us what the equipment was.

What Linksys adapter? They don't make anything called "Net to phone" and your nomenclature might cause confusion with a different product called Net2Phone. Which is not what you used.

Also, what kind of fax machine did you connect to the Linksys device? What speeds does it operate at? T.38?

Linksys "Internet Phone Adapter"

Yes, Linksys manufacturing in the name of "Internet Phone Adapter" (Model : PAP2T). You will get this adapter for around $40 in USA.

That adapter has one RJ45 input port to connect it to my switch, and two RJ11 output ports. You can assign IP address to this adapter like your VoIP phone. Through the assigned IP, get the web page to change/configure the extensions.

Give any extension (1xxx) available in your trixbox. Assign "proxy" as your Trixbox IP. I have configured 1st RJ11 port with my HP FAX machine (5610 All-in-one Printer). There is no much settings needed. I have selected "Pulse dialing method". Tone dialing was not working for me. Any normal FAX machine will work with this adapter, 100% perfect sending and receiving.

Then 2nd RJ11 port is connected with Normal Analog phone (POTS). But this phone takes certain delay(10-15 seconds) to dial out the call. No more issues.

In my trixbox CE 2.6, i'm using A102D Sangoma Card. Thats it.

I hope i'm clear now.

Very Clear

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm sure that many people will find it useful.

For those people, you can also find instructions on how to setup the PAP2T in this old thread and many others on the net.
