Converting dictation recordings to MP3 or Audio CD for storage

Hi All

I have a Polycom IP6000 set up with the dictation module in FreePBX to record meetings. Using CE 2.6

The recording works just fine and I can playback the audio through the Polycom, or any other IP phone configured on that extension.

I have tried setting the format to WAV, RAW and GSM but have yet to be able to convert the file successfully, and nothing on a PC, Windwos or Linux based can play the files, only the phones.

What I would like to do is create an audio CD which can be played in anything, and also for archiving purposes.

Does anyone have anything like this working ok?

Ifan

Have you tried

Vlc media player will play most things. You might like to download a trial version of Nero to convert files to cda and then burn to CD.

I have tried.....

sox and Audacity to convert RAW to WAV, MP3 with no luck
I have used VLC, CDEX, Nero and a host of Linux apps to convert from WAV to MP3/audio cd with no luck

There has to be something wrong with the format as recorded, as I can't even PLAY a WAV file in anything, only on the phones

I have had no problems

I have had no problems playing the wav files using vlc. Converting the files to mp3 is also easy. Use this command

lame -V2 msg0000.wav msg0000.mp3

What about...

so what about converting .raw files?

I left the setting at Ogg Vorbis, and no matter what I do to try and convert to wav / mp3 I get noise and nothing else!

btw vlc does not play the .raw file - only the phones play the .raw and the .wav for that matter
