We are using Trixbox and FreePBX on a small company, with around 30 extensions.
We work on shifts, so everyone uses anyones phone.To control the calls we decided to use the Pinset feature to each user and it's working very well.
The problem: it's very inconvenient for the bosses that have personal phones, to digit the pin each time they want to make a call.
So,
Your best bet will be to create a "secret" outbound route for the bosses. For example, you could create a new route with a prefix of "8" that only the bosses know about. This will allow those who know to dial 8 + their phone number to not be prompted for a PIN, while the rest that live in the dark about this feature will still be prompted for a PIN. As long as this information is controlled, it shouldn't be a problem.
