Hewy folks

I got a x100p to help with my timing issues.

After installing, zttest hangs and I can't make/receive any calls on trixbox!!! (however everything is registered properly - just you can't hear any sound - not even an error tone).

I've diabled my seriel port and usb ports in my BIOS.

Please help

Cheers

ok anything that requires

ok anything that requires timing doesn't work anymore!

i.e. playback, transcoding

however non-transcoding, non-playback (i.e. a trunk) streams work.

I have run into this problem

I have run into this problem on a 64 bit 1.6GHz dual core intel processor HP dx2300 computer. It seems when I load the zaptel drivers, that no sounds will work at all. This is the only computer I have had an issue with. You can try various kernel tricks listed in various places on this site, but I couldn't get any of them to work and eventually just moved the whole installation to a different computer.

161 - thats a really bad IRQ

161 - thats a really bad IRQ for a card - try turning off anything further that you can find (printer ports) although it sounds like youve done this. Toggle the plug-n-play option in your bios. If you have a "Reset Hardware Configuration" or something like that turn it on. Also try a different PCI slot.

personally I have found that systems running chipsets from SIS, nvidia and some VIA (so pretty much all AMD) dont handle those cards very well at all.

hi there.

I can't try a different PCI slot as this proliant server only came with 1 :-(

AFAIK, this board has an intel chipset but I could be wrong. The BIOS doesn't have *any* IO options except to disable the USB and seriel ports (which i've done). I've tried many boot tricks such as acpi noaicp nosmp etc..etc.. (I even tried turning off one core in the BIOS) to no avail.

Do you think I would have this problem with a Sangora Card?

99% chance you would not

99% chance you would not have this problem with a Sagoma card

theres a lot of variations of those x100p's, some are WORSE than others, i dont think any are better than others.

Hi jahyde.

THe x100p was an offical ones from x100p.com however I've heard about their problems. I'm hopefully going to try and aquire a Sangoma A200 card.

Will this install without any further ado? Or do I need to do more stuff to get this going?

No prolems with x100p here

Sorry not to be able to help you specifically - but I've been using a x100p in a SIS based motherboard with an AMD Athlon for a few months now, and apart from having to comment out teh echotrainign line, had no troubles setting it up

Sangoma A200 card.

Just for timing? Seems like overkill.

We are still having an issue with our HP also. No other machines are effected.

you might as well get the

you might as well get the card with a module - otherwise it just comes blank - at least then you can have a failover option if internet drops. dont get the echo canceler - its a waste of money in your situation.

jahyde, yep i'm gonna get one with a module. skykingoh, yes it does seem a bit much for timing however with the trouble i'm having with this server, i want to get something that is known to work well with trixbox and as a plus, I will have a failover and proper room for expansion
