Phantom calls

We’re experiencing a very strange problem. When we receive an incoming call, within 3-5 seconds after it is answered, we receive a “call” that isn’t really there. We pick it up and it is telco dialtone with caller id of “Unknown”. I can place a call to my mobile phone and see the phone number of whatever line “called” us.

Our setup is with a Sangoma card.
What is causing this and how should I go about fixing it?

This is driving us insane! We desperately need This fixed!

The problem was at the phone

The problem was at the phone company switch... there apparently was a Base Station Ring enabled which deals with call forwarded calls. The phone company fixed this for us.
