PRI DID Inbound Routes

I Just got a PRI Line and i'm trying to configure inbound routes so that a specific range of numbers (we're passing 10 digits) will be sent to a specific IVR. I can get the did routing to work if i only use 1 specific number Ex 1234567890 but not if i wanted a set of numbers Ex 12345678XX i've tried using X, numbers within the brackets, and neither method worked. the call would not even be answered.

In addition if i specify a prefix onto the cid and the route goes through an ivr, the prefix is not passed on with the cid. is there any way to make it do so.

Try putting an underscore in

Try putting an underscore in front of the number, i.e. instead of 12345678XX, type _12345678XX

That worked perfectly to fix

That worked perfectly to fix the inbound routes. Why does it need the underscore in order for a range to work?

Also, any ideas on why the prefix i set it not being sent through the IVR as well. It works if i have the route go directly to an extension or ring group, but not if it hits the ivr and then an extension.
