The solution to the problem below is solved here:

-------------------------

Hi all,

I have 2 trixbox servers set up in different locations, both connected with an IAX trunk between the 2.

Location 1 has extensions 2xx
Location 2 has extensions 3xx

I can dial location 1 extensions from location 2, and vice-versa - no problems.

I have added an IVR for incoming calls to location 2, and I have direct dial enabled, so callers who know their parties extensions, can call direct. This works fine for local extensions at location 2 (ie 3xx), but not for remote extensions at location 1 (ie 2xx).

I guess this must be something do do with the fact that the 2xx extensions are not in location 2's local extension list.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all,

Richard

Same exact problem....

When a remote trixbox is setup... How can I have the main IVR (automated attendant) allow inbound callers dial extensions that are on the remote trixbox?

How many times do I have to

How many times do I have to cover this topic?

Use an extension with a type of custom. For the dial string /iax2/trunk_name_to_remote_server/digits_to_send

If the trunk on the remote server is in the from-internal context then you can send extensions, if it is in from-trunk then you can send any pattern you wish and add an inbound route on the remote server.

How many times do you?

Skyking,

Im trying to undersand your info, but as you can already tell, there is someone in this planet that needs more help than the ordinary (ME),
Same scenario, have 2 trixboxes and need to call the remote extensions thru the IVR. I have created custom extensions on my local trixbox to dial the remote extensions /iax/trunk/ext which works ok, however I need the steps on how to make it easier so that there is no need to create remote extensions on the local trixbox, I've read the link on top of this post about setting up IVR-2 custom on ext_custom but Im confused on where the IVR-2 comes from, I have an IVR called Main. Please help with more details

If I am not wrong - you are

If I am not wrong - you are looking for:

In extensions_custom.conf, enter this:
[ivr-2-custom]
exten => _1XX,1,dial(iax2/Inter-Office/${EXTEN})

This makes 2 assumptions:
1. The IVR that your customers are getting is named [ivr-2] in extensions_additional.conf. Freepbx controls the actual names of them in the conf files, so you'll have to look to verify.
2. The name of your trunk to your second asterisk box is Inter-Office, and you have it's context already set to from-internal.

This is from one of my post ..... Thanks to cvander again !!!!!

Similar kind of problem

I have 2 Asterisk connected using IAX trunk.

Asterisk 1 has outside link and inbound trunks and uses an IVR for auto attandent with menu options from 1 - 4

On Asterisk 2 have extensions of pattern 2XX, I want to have the IVR accept dialing of extensions 2XX but every time i enter 2 it takes me to the IVR option 2.

from Asterisk 1 i can dial 2XX extensions and they go to Asterisk2 fine.

Please any help on this would be appreciated

You must change the IVR option

change it to another number. Leave 1 and 2 for the extensions, or create a DISA and it'll give you the option to have a dial tone set when you press an option.
