Is there a way to enter an extension and have it stream an mms:// stream?

The stream is: mms://213.8.143.165:80/gglz

Thanks,

Mark

I do not think that is going to happen, unless you have a player for linux which which can play MMS streams
Windows Media Audio 9.1

Re: Stream MMS:// from an extension

I have read that mplayer can do this. I installed mplayer by using YUM. Now what do I need to do to play a stream via extension?

OK here you go follow this use the code below to create a new include file musiconhold_custom.conf besure to tag it as include in the musiconhold.conf

http://nerdvittles.com/index.php?p=92

[classes]

stream => quietmp3:/var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3/stream,mms://213.8.143.165:80/gglz

Are you sure you wish to Install MPLayer on the asterisk server?

Quoted from The MPlayer website

"First off, we have uncovered some new security bugs in the AVI, Real and MOV code so we urge you to upgrade in any case"

"Be aware that currently the server is not secure at all. So do not complain about the numerous exploits which are possible through this. Instead send some (good) patch to make it better or start writing your own server. "

Re: Stream MMS:// from an extension

Ok...new plan! I honestly think this is brilliant! Its simple and allows me to play any format I choose. I will play the stream on my server using windows media player. I will then go into the advanced options of my sound card and modify the recording to use Wave Out Mix instead of Microphone. This will redirect the speakers to the Microphone. I will then get an softphone which will allow auto-answer. I will assign the softphone an extension and when I call that extension I will be able to listen to streaming audio. I have tried this from softphone to softphone and it works excellent and the audio is really good. You need to play with the mic level so it is not distorted.

I gave up on the idea to use mplayer and will now use windows to accomplish this. See the following post:
