TrixBox Pro activation

We just decided to rebuild our TrixBox server that has been running since last spring. I downloaded the TrixBox Pro .iso file, created an account and burned a CD. I installed on the same server that had been running the earlier version and the install seemed to go well.

However, after the reboot, when the activate login came up, the system cannot find the internet. The server was working fine before the install with no connection issues, eth0 comes up, the link and traffic lights are on and showing activity at both the NIC and the switch AND if I plug the cable into a laptop it works fine. I tried another NIC which was discovered when I rebooted but I have the same problem.

I have reinstalled 3 times with the same result. Anyone have any idea how to get past this?

[edit]

I just booted with a Knoppix disk and can access the network with no problem. Seems to be something in the TrixBox build.

If you do not have DHCP

If you do not have DHCP running on that network you will have to manually configure the IP information.

I do have a DHCP server as

I do have a DHCP server as well as a couple of DNS servers. When I booted the server from the Knoppix CD it got an address from DHCP and connected to the web right away. I can't get Trixbox to work with either DHCP or the fixed IP that it was working fine with earlier in the day on the earlier Trixbox build.

Kerry is saying that if you

Kerry is saying that if you don't have a DHCP client running on the Trixbox, it won't be able to use the DHCP server.
Try running netconfig and setup DHCP, or enter in static information instead. Example:
IP Address: 192.168.1.200
Netmask : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1 Primary Nameserver:

Jason
