I have noticed that when internal calls are made with version 2.8 there is about a 2 second delay before a phone rings compared to 2.6 where the call rings as soon as its dialed. Has anyone experienced this? Could there be something in the pattern matching of the dial plans that is causing it to delay a few seconds? Nothing major but I do find it interesting.

Could be dial plan on the phone. More than likely it's DNS related.

Monitor CLI output, and you will know if it's the asterisk dialplan or phones
Well by analysis was based on an aastra 480i phone first running on a fresh 2.8 install. Then running a fresh 2.6 install. Same server same phone different trixxie version. I will check out the CLI in more detail thanks!

I laughed. Calling it 'Trixxie' is less efficient than the common abbreviation 'trix' or * and sets of my Amway radar. No, I don't want to be an independent business owner.
