when internal users are on the phone and are called by another internal user (ext to ext), no busy tone

I have the VM disabled and call waiting disabled for all users, but still no busy tone. I'm using Grandstream phones, on their configs the busy tone is enabled, and call waiting is disabled........the Grandstream phone displays that the called party is "talking", thus busy, but there is no busy tone heard in the handset.
anyone know what I'm missing?

Anyone? I also have the following script....

...in my "extensions.conf" file....

; Extensions with no Voicemail box reporting BUSY come here
exten => s-BUSY,1,NoOp(Extension is reporting BUSY and not passing to Voicemail)
exten => s-BUSY,n,Playtones(busy)
exten => s-BUSY,n,Busy(20)

so if I have the above, AND I've disabled VM AND Call Waiting, what am I missing? still no busy tone being played. It just continues to ring or I get silence.

anyone? no love? seriously, as simple as a problem that this..

...may be, I've taken the steps that I know to take, but still can't get the busy tone. Anyone willing to help me out here? Have I offended everyone in the forum by just posting such a simple problem?

Following posting guidelines is always a good place to start

Once again it's not a question of offense it's a question of not providing any useful information.

Have you review the wiki posting posting 'how to ask for help'?

You did not indicate the trixbox version number, Grandstream model and software revision or include the call log (sanitized only the point where the tones should be played).

You also did not indicate what you do get instead of the busy tone.

You also did not post in the correct forum. There are only a few Grandstream users here so the chance of one seeing a post outside the Grandstream forum are minimal.

The fact you did not post to the correct forum and gave such scant information also shows little effort on your part so why should anyone bend over backwards?

I have moved your post to the Grandstream forum.

thx for the response Scott....

...u'r right, I wasn't specific enough with some of the information, but I didn't think this would be a specific problem with Grandstream, so I kept the post here. But I'll take any chiding/constructive criticism and do better going forward. thx again. I'll go to the Granstream forum and see what comes out of this.

From x20 I dialed 6856576

From x20 I dialed 6856576 and had an outbound phone call
from x13 I called x20 and heard no sound, but saw “talking” on the phone display...no busy tone
Ext20 hung up the call

uh...er...anyone? help?

I think I've got a pretty thorough run through of what I've done above, is there any additional information needed?

below is a logged comparison of 2 different systems with BUSY

I picked up ext210 and dialed 6856576....then I had ext 212 call ext 210, and we got a busy signal
From x20 I dialed 6856576 and had a phone call, from x13 I called ext20 and heard no sound, but saw “talking” on the phone display

did work (the lines closest to the left margin are from an identical Trixbox system where the BUSY tone is played)
didn't work (the lines furthest from the left margin are from a system where the BUSY tone does NOT play)
-- dialparties.agi: Caller ID name is 'Gabi' number is '212'
dialparties.agi: Caller ID name is 'Lizette x13' number is '13'
-- dialparties.agi: Added extension 210 to extension map
-- dialparties.agi: Added extension 20 to extension map
-- dialparties.agi: Extension 210 cf is disabled
-- dialparties.agi: Extension 20 cf is disabled
-- dialparties.agi: Extension 210 do not disturb is disabled
-- dialparties.agi: Extension 20 do not disturb is disabled
-- dialparties.agi: Checking CW and CFB status for extension 210
-- dialparties.agi: Checking CW and CFB status for extension 20
dialparties.agi: Extension 210 is not available to be called
dialparties.agi: Extension 20 is not available to be called
dialparties.agi: Extension 210 has call waiting disabled
dialparties.agi: Extension 20 has call waiting disabled
-- dialparties.agi: Filtered ARG3:
-- AGI Script dialparties.agi completed, returning 0
"Returned from dialparties with no extensions to call and DIALSTATUS: BUSY") in new stack
"Returned from dialparties with no extensions to call and DIALSTATUS: BUSY") in new stack

== Spawn extension (macro-exten-vm, s-BUSY, 3) exited non-zero on 'SIP/13-b7715698' in macro 'exten-vm'

does anyone have ANY idea why the BUSY tone will NOT play?
