Yum Update error in 2.8.1

Hello All,
I have a fresh install of 2.8.1 from iso to a VM. When i do yum update i see 167mb in updates and then i get this massive error message, any ideas how to resolve it?

The answer lies in many posts in this forum.
run the following:
#yum clean all
#rpm -e --nodeps kmod-dahdi-linux
Then you can install the module or run the update again.

First of all, I search the forums efore and after my post and i see no references to this issue.
Second after i ran rpm -e --nodeps kmod-dahdi-linux and then yum update -y I tried to reinstall kmod-dahdi-linux and i got the same error.
so next i tried yum update -y exclude=kmod-dahdi-linux which said i now have NO updates for anything. That does not make sence since alot of the updates were for mysql and centos and not freepbx or asterisk.
What additional troubleshooting should i perform?
I have to say this sounds like a bug to me and not a minor problem.

You got an empty package set because your command was wrong. You say above you ran:
#yum update -y exclude=kmod-dahdi-linux"
This tries to update without prompting the package called "exclude=kmod-dahdi-linux". If you want to exclude, you need to prepend the word exclude with two dashes:
#yum -y --exclude=kmod-dahdi-linux" update
I still think though that if you do the above and then do a new install of the package it will work. To be exact:
#yum clean all
#rpm -e --nodeps kmod-dahdi-linux
#yum -y install kmod-dahdi-linux
#yum -y update

I've been able to get the needed update with the following:
yum -x kmod* upgrade
This has installed everything but kmod-dahdi-linux and kmod-mISDN.
Hope that helps.

I'm running a Sangoma PRI card, and the WANROUTER drivers,
but I've done the following:
#yum clean all
#rpm -e --nodeps kmod-dahdi-linux
#yum -y install kmod-dahdi-linux
#yum -y update
and still receive the conflict message. kmod-mISDN and mISDN-kmod-base won't update.

This just worked for me, I'm not sure why, though...
Install just one package, and then remove it.
yum -y install kmod-mISDN
rpm -e --nodeps kmod-mISDN
yum update
(There was nothing left to update, or add. I had already loaded all of the other updates individually).
Good luck, it seems there are many conditions that invoke similar symptoms.

yum -x kmod* upgrade
I encountered no problems.

BUT
yum -x kmod-mISDN upgrade
DID work (maybe the wildcard doesn't work here?). Of course, it didn't upgrade kmod-mISDN, but I don't have any ISDN interfaces, so hopefully I'm OK...
