Today I have encountered error starting Hudlite-server in Trixbox 2.6.2.2:

#>service hudlite-server start
Starting hudlite-server [FAILED]

When going in Trixbox PBX -> Hudlite Admin, there is no password displayed for each extension.

During investigation, I have found tons of same error message in /usr/local/fonality/hud/logs/error.log

-> Relay:2009-08-12 04:05:30> Failed to check configuration files. Reason: Name contains invalid start character: ' '

And since googling yielded no result, I managed to solve it on my own. And the reason is simple: name of one extension contains "&" character.

After deleting ampersant letter from BOTH extension name in FreePBX and in /etc/asterisk/hud/users.xml, hudlite-server starts [OK].

Note: even hudlite-server is okay, all Hud passwords for extensions are re-generated to new ones. You should restore the old HUD passwords, or update them on each Hudlite client again.

Just want to share it in case you may need.

Regards,

Bao Nguyen.
