Got a good deal on a new Aastra device...but I need help configuring it. It's online and gets an IP. I can get into the admin panel, and the extension is set up in Trixbox... The next step is something to do with sshing into the box and installing a package. Send me your rate and availability.

I have a question for you.

I have a question for you. The volunteer staff on the forum works very hard to provide information and to help users.

Did it occur to you to read the instructions before asking how to do something that is documented in an administration manual?

Why are you installing manually? The Aastra-XML scripts will auto configure the phone.

i rtfm

the aastra manual points you to to the online admin interface...it does not discuss the xml stuff. i'm not familiar with running scripts on the server...anything that's not GUI I don't like to mess with. I'm the end user.

To get the most of that

To get the most of that phone the xml scripts have to be installed on the server. Do you have a server admin?

im trying to configure the

im trying to configure the phone without XML scripts. Im pretty bummed because the cordless is basically useless when using XML. I cant transfer or anything from the handset. XML scripts work great for the base stations. but you are screwed on the wireless. sucks.
After removing the XML scripts from a test server I cant even get this stupid phone to connect to trixbox. That was a $3000 RTFM mistake.
