Aastra Microsoft Outlook (Exchange) Contacts

I have the foundation for extracting contacts from Exchange via Webdav and OWA developed. I intend on integrating this functionality into the Magic Button, so users can speak the name of contacts in their personal contact list (global distribution lists also possible in the future).

Implementing this as an Aastra XML application should be fairly straight forward. I'll put a reserve bounty of $1,500 on it.

See:

and

Post in this thread to commit to a portion of the reserve bounty.

SLA is hold awaiting more

SLA is on hold awaiting more financial commitments :( Most of the things I do (like this, day/night and Away status) have a direct correlation with internal needs. The SLA doesn't fit any direct needs, so it is purely of financial motivation. Last time I checked on the SLA there were only 2 or 3 commitments, plus your contribution to the last project which I am including in the total.

Status?

Hi Ethan -
I've been reading some of your reverse bounty contributions - really appreciate your work here. Has there been any interest in the Outlook/Aastra XML development that you mentioned here? I'm not sure if the last comment in this thread from je100o meant that SLA was setup long ago, or the contacts. Williing to help with bounty if needed - $300 wouldn't be a problem.

I'm also interested in presence integrated with iSymphony that you mentioned in one of your posts, which doesn't seem to be working for me. It may be because I installed iSymphony and the demo Conductor license after installing the latest XML setup scripts. Any hints you can provide on making it work?

Regards,

Corey Puchalski

There has not been much

There has not been much interest in the Exchange integration. I'm not clear if you are committing $300 for SLA or the Exchange integration. With $300 I could finish up the Exchange integration and release that script. All that needs to be done is expand support for more than 30 contacts.

As far as iSymphony, you need an actual license to expose the Away status support. A demo license won't work. I have re-engineered the iSymphony sync with i9's latest iSymphony beta 2.1 that adds support for real-time status notifications. The daemon I have written supports instantaneous syncing of statuses between Aastra, iSymphony and the magic button. It is super cool. When I change my Away status in iSymphony, the Away button on the phone lights up red, DND lights up red (if you have DND enabled as your Away preference), and changes the status screen - all instantaneously. I'm not sure if the 2.1 beta is publicly available, but I'm sure if you emailed them and told them what you were doing, they would probably get you the beta. There is a bunch of really cool stuff in there that makes iSymphony almost exactly functionally equivalent to HUD 3.

As our internal XML scripts have now forked from Aastra's release, I would need to get into your box an do some custom setup to get iSymphony syncing working. There would be a charge for that.

Presence and iSyphony 2.1 is very well done

Tony from Schmooze was in town last week and we had the opportunity to demo presence and iSymphony 2.1 to a few customers.

The presence information is marvelous and demo's very well.

A customer requested presence integration with MS live Communication Server chat client. We (my company and a customer) are looking at funding this project.

We are going to be

We are going to be developing presence information into OpenFire/Spark as well. It will sync with iSymphony, Away button, Magic Button and the Spark client. Neat stuff...

Exchange integration

I was offering the $300 for the Exchange integration - offer still stands, just let me know where to send the money.

On iSymphony, I'm pretty well sold on the product - any idea when they'll be releasing 2.1?

Does your fork of the XML scripts reincorporate or mimic updates from Aastra occasionally to take advantage of firmware updates, or is it truly a fork at a particular version of the Aastra scripts? I assume your scripts are a requirement for the iSymphony sync, correct?

I would be interested in engaging you to get the iSymphony sync working, I would likely wait for the 2.1 release. You can reach me at cpuchalski at cyberoptics dt com if you want to work out the details.

Thanks,

Corey
