Aastra XML Groups Button

In preparation for the OTTS Aastra XML lab, I present you with the Aastra Groups Button. The Groups button presents a user with three options upon pushing it:

Page Groups
Ring Groups
Voicemail Blast Groups

Selecting one of these options presents the user with all the groups in that category, all of which are one push away from the user dialing. Your users no longer have to remember extensions of groups on their system.

The user experience is our company mantra, and we absolutely believe that any time users have to remember star codes, key sequences or extension numbers, the overall use of that application will be diminished greatly, thus reducing the overall user experience. This applications brings us one step closer to the final goal of complete user interactivity with their PBX.

This application has a reserve bounty of only $500. If you are interested, consider contributing a $100 bounty, which will get you the application immediately. Which Aastra phones?

Hi Ethan,

Which Aastra phones does this work with? Does it support 9133i and 480i? How much is left on the bounty? Sorry for all the questions.

Works on 480i but not the 9133i. I could make it work on the 9133i/9143i. Contribute $100 towards the bounty and I'll make it compatible with the 9133i and send it over to you.

This seems like it would help consolidate some of the button space since you wouldn't have to map specific speedials. I'm in.... Ok so I believe I've read in previous threads that you take paypal. So how do I get it over to you. I know you are asked this all the time, so maybe you could put this information or specify the paypal information in your forum signature (just an idea so no one has a reason to not have paid you). Also, how is the Away Prescense coming with the newest Aastra XML? I have everything working with the latest scripts except the recording of temp messages.

I have the away statuses

I have the away statuses working 100% on aastra-xml-scripts 2.1.1 (latest).

I'm working on the 9133 support for the groups button. Interestingly it's not as simple as I thought and is requiring me to utilize the AMI. I'll update you when I'm complete.

Ok, got 9133 support. It's not pretty but it works. Instead of dialing directly through the XML app like I can with pretty much any other phone, I have to open an intercom channel to the 9133 and connect it with the ring group/vm blast group/page group. Not pretty.

Interestingly enough, this little hack would make it possible to get the visual park button working on the 9133.

Doesn't work anymore

Hi Ethan,

I tried to contact you via email but it was bounced back (otherwise I would not post here). I purchased this a year ago from you and it stopped working with the mainstream version of the XML scripts earlier this year. I have tried to debug to see what the differences are but have not been able to come up with anything (tailing /var/log/httpd/error_log and access_log reveal nothing as well the asterisk logs). Any assistance would be appreciated.

This is a great add on feature and we would like to be able to continue using it. I do not mind sending some additional cash your way. Please let me know what is the next step
