I figured since there are many folks here with vast PBX backgrounds, one of you has probably encountered Alcatel's IP solution at some point. The OmniPCX Enterprise system is completely IP and SIP based until it reaches media gateways which can utilize either SIP VoIP, proprietary digital (for longer distance runs that ethernet can't handle with full features), or analog sets. The backend is based on a hardened version of Mandriva Linux (quite possibly because one of their biggest customers is Air France).
Two Alcatel representatives came by my office (I invited them) and left me a demo system with 3 phones, a media gateway, and a VMWare of their backend server. I absolutely love the way the phones work and the tight integration they share with the backend, but the administration interface is less than friendly.
Just to give you an idea of what the system looks like, here's their flagship phone:

Has anyone had experience with these?
