ARI VmX Locator MIA on 2.6?

Anybody else notice this? It's just not there on a 2.6.0.5 or 2.6.0.7 install from scratch. Is this a FreePBX problem?

I fixed it by copying the /var/www/html/recordings directory and all of it's contents from a 2.2.12 box.

You will also need /var/www/html/user/templates_c/%%49^49E^49E863AF%%vmrecs.tpl.php but once you copy these files over, it works fine - has anyone else noticed this? It's not in the bug tracker, but I wonder if it is a bug, or just an oversight?

I will post as a bug unless someone says different.

Voicemail module can't be removed, and removing and then

re-adding Follow Me didn't do anything - what are you talking about doing? There is no option to remove the Voicemail module.

sorry - that was just from

sorry - that was just from memory, I guess i only reinstalled follow-me.

But before that VMX and Follow-me were there, but both were completely hosed and un-usable, now they are pristine. This system was 2.6.0.2 yum'd to .5. Freepbx has all the latest modules as of today and show 2.4.0.1. In ARI it shows "FreePBX 2.3 Version" - guess they didnt bump the version number in ARI - but it works. I also had to mess with my phpagi.conf, and there seemed to be some other php code related errors when I did the initial install.

I have another clean 2.6.0.5 install at the shop that I will check on, but I think its working fine also. - maybe install freepbx from source will fix you up.

i did a clean 2.6.0.7

i did a clean 2.6.0.7 install and ARI with VmX is working fine. So this sounds like a freepbx upgrade broke this?

Kerry, Kerry, Kerry, your

Kerry, Kerry, Kerry,
your past experiences should teach you not to point so quickly at FreePBX - the backup 'bug' should be fresh in your head... (not to say anything in tb is breaking this either since I have no idea).
VmX is basically embedded in core plus a little bit in the voicemail module and of course most of the UI in ARI. It is there and working fine. So I'm not sure what is going on.
I was just on some 2.6 variant TB system that appeared to have an outdated global.css style sheet that is packaged with the ARI that was causing grief in the tooltip hints not displaying properly. Since this was a customer system, that also had some other custom things being done, I couldn't possibly say if they had done something or it came this way - but it would have effected the VmX screen also had their been a VmX configuration enabled. (But it would still be there, it would just look really ugly).
One thing to make sure - you won't even see an option for VmX when logged into the ARI if the extension does not have it enabled. And if you were doing any sort of upgrade from a backup, it is always possible that your AMPUSER astdb got corrupted which could make VmX go away - so make sure it is enabled in the extension first.

Hmmm...maybe a remnant of a yum from 2.6.0.5?

Just did a fresh-load of 2.6.0.7 and it is there and working like it should - although it is showing

FreePBX 2.3 Version
· Based on ARI from Littlejohn Consulting

in the corner on the bottom - this is the same thing I get from the pages hijacked from a 2.2.12 box with FreePBX 2.4 installed - Oh well - I think it is an artifact of having loaded 2.6.0.0 and then yumming up to the current.

Clean load of 2.6.0.7 does NOT show this problem.

No, it is an artifact of us

No,
it is an artifact of us never updating the version number in the ARI:-)

Phillipe, I didn't mean to

Phillipe,
I didn't mean to imply a bug in the FreePBX internal update process as much as I thought it might have been a problem with OUR update process to FreePBX (using our RPMS).

I have the same problem VMX Locater is MIA

I updated my system from 2.6.0.0 to 2.6.05 and VMX Locater is gone. Ironicaly, it still works, but I can see it in the ARI directory to change anything. I have tried toggling it on and off under Extensions to see if it would turn on, but to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to turn it back on (or make it visable again)? I just yummed up to 2.6.0.7 to see if this would help, but again it did not. everything else is working fine. I did have a problem after the upgrade to 2.6.0.5 with the php module. I am not sure if the two are related. I did fix that problem.
Any ideas?

Thanks,

Shawn

Look at the first post

just copy the files you need off of another box - or PM me and I can send you the tarball that will fix it. You will need an E-Mail address that can take large attachments.

I have the same problem VMX Locater is MIA

I am suffering from the same problem guys.

I did a fresh install of 2.6.0.7 from the ISO on the website, then did all the yum updates and FreePBX module admin updates as well. When I go into ARI it shows I have v00.10.02. Follow Me looks hosed and I don't have anything for VmX Locater.

Therefore can I also get the tarball file as well to see if that solves the problem? You can email me at trixboxATcitapinc.com (replace AT with the proper symbol please).

Thanks!

Assuming trixbox is not

Assuming trixbox is not modifying FreePBX, you can just pull it from the FreePBX server and it should reinstall properly:
http://mirror.freepbx.org/freepbx-2.4.0.tar.gz

Problem Resolved

I was able to resolve this issue by uninstalling the FreePBX via the package manager, reboot the server and reinstall FreePBX via the package manager. Then did all the updates via FreePBX and everything is up and running.

Thanks!

Try another approach

Download PBX in a Flash from http://www.pbxinaflash.com/ and give it a try, it will work "right out of the box" so to say. I have found out that this distro will not mess up (or patch-plus) FreePBX.

Wow philippel do you just troll the forum and wait for Kerry to say something then jump his buttox?

PBX in a Flash is still not as good as trixbox CE give it a few years maybe.
