Dell has the sc440 on sale for $199, looks like just for today.
That is SOOOO not right. Too bad I don't need a few servers right now.
HOLY CRAP that is cheap.
Wow!
Just bought 5 units to play with
Started playing with Geovision cards.
With a little luck, Nerd Vittles will recreate the Orgasmatron II build for this system within the next few weeks.
That model has been around for a while - Man, that's cheap - I ordered 3 of them myself - stock I guess, but at this price, I can afford to sit on them for a while.
If you are just getting started with Trixbox, you can't find a better machine for your first machine - just make sure and get at least 2 Gigs of RAM - this will set you back an additional whopping $29.00. An additional 80-Gig drive (for software RAID) will set you back another $36.00 from ZipZoomFly here: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=11700...
Also, I hope Ward does re-do the Orgasmatron for this machine - it is a MUCH nicer construction than the Everex - It looks much more "Business-ey" than the Everex.
So for a grand total of $264.00, you can have a machine that will easily support 30+ Phones, and multiple PRI/FXS/FXO Cards - Brilliant!
Also, it looks like the special is today (Tuesday) and Tomorrow (Wednesday, the 15th) - Get yours now!
Greg
Looks like it's a 2 day sale, good Tuesday and Wednesday.
Watch the shipping though, the default is next business day which costs almost as much as the servcer itself. If you aren't in a hurry change it to a less costly alternative. (Cheapest they show is $19.99)
Nerd Vittles today has released the Orgasmatron II build for the SC440 if you happened to be lucky enough to get one. The install process takes under 15 minutes.
For those of you that missed the Dell SC440 for $199 several weeks ago, now's your chance. It's on sale again starting today...
