Alright.

Let me first state that I am pretty new to linux and trixbox. I do work in the telecommunications field and am a little familiar with SIP/ Asterisk / Trixbox, ect.

I am in the process of setting up a SOHO pbx for my online business. I started out with IVM/AXON but soon realized that it would not do what I wanted so switched over to Trixbox....

Read for a while, got all my SIP connections working, IVR, voicemail, ect and have now turned my attention to outbound dialing via PSTN over 2 magic jacks (im going for minimal monthly cost)

I have been completely talked out of the X100p's since they seem to be so unreliable.

What I am documenting here is my experience with a smaller, sorta unknown TDM400p card from ebay seller

He seems to give more detail regarding his product than most, who all tend to point back to asterisk for any sort of help.
Within 30minutes of ordering I had a reply that my order had been packaged and was ready to ship Monday. I then contacted him via IM and had a short conversation.

He stated that I was being shipped a TDM410p card instead of a TDM400p card as that is all he carries now.... I have no clue if this is a marketing ploy but I'll be sure to post pictures, ect once I receive the card.

Since this is my first Asterisk/Trixbox install on my own it will be interesting to see how things go.
Keep you eyes peeled here for more info once I receive that card (should ship today hopefully since it's Monday in China)

.. Now if I could only figure out why I cannot past DTMF tones over google voice.........

You have been initiated.

Also, what is your DTMF mode set to? If RFC2833 isn't working you could try inband.

:) I've researched it like

:)

I've researched it like I said. And the only difference that I could find was the optional echo cancellation board port on the 410p over the 400p

But Thanks for the google link ;) Will definitely have to use lmgtfy.com in the future

Regarding the DTMF issues and the MODE. I should only change it to inband in the "Incoming Settings" on the trunks that have google voice calls forwarded to correct? As DTMF works fine as long as it's not a GV forwarded call.

Do you remember the Cisco fiasco that happened not long ago where Cisco resellers were unknowingly selling counterfeit Cisco gear? It appears what happened in that case is the manufacturing plant kept on manufacturing "off the books" and selling the unauthorized gear to whoever would buy it. It might be the same case with these cards, who knows.

Chinaroby is a huge spammer.

Chinaroby is a huge spammer. This may sound biased because of my company affiliation but I would never buy from him based solely on his interactions with this community.

I do remember that, however

I do remember that, however I'm not sure who they would be counterfeiting? The Digium design (as I understand it) is not proprietary, so anyone can utilize the same chipsets and build their own card. Is China Roby selling them as "Digum branded" cards?

Alright... So all tutorials

Alright...

So all tutorials I can find point to zaptel not dahdi..

Hopefully someone can answer a couple questions for me.
I'm using Trixbox Ce 2.8

ran the setup-pstn command and it found the card and installed, I rebooted the box.
What I would like to do is have both FXO cards as separate trunks.

using the dahdi-channels.conf shown below, what would I set the line
Zap Identifier (trunk name): ___
within the ZAP Trunk (DAHDI compatibility Mode) page on the web gui ?

Would this be left at g0 since the FXO ports have group=0 in the config?
or can I somehow set this to the indiviual channel?

Also with the FXS ports, I cannot seem to get dialtone. Do I just need to setup an zap extension using the proper channel # ?

within the Dahdi-channels.conf I have

; Autogenerated by /usr/sbin/dahdi_genconf on Thu Jul 23 17:43:43 2009
; If you edit this file and execute /usr/sbin/dahdi_genconf again,
; your manual changes will be LOST.
; Dahdi Channels Configurations (chan_dahdi.conf)
;
; This is not intended to be a complete chan_dahdi.conf. Rather, it is intended
; to be #include-d by /etc/chan_dahdi.conf that will include the global settings

grrr I'm an idiot. Plugged

grrr

I'm an idiot. Plugged in the phone cords opposite ports...
Getting DT now on internal extensions

outbound calls are working, inbound calls are working.. No echo.

actually the whole process was really simple which was shocking.

I will setup the other inside line and outside line later.
