Hi I am gradually getting a Trixbox install ready for an office environment.
The office has 6 POTS lines and 24 extensions.

I have 2 Questions I need help with:

** 1. Do extension Rules exist. (see explaination)

the existing system has different extenions with different rules.
for example

Office 1 can call all numbers
Office 2 cannot call 0011
Office 3 cannot call 0011 and mobiles
Office 4,5,6 cannot call inter state or 0011 or mobiles
Office 7 cannot make out going calls.

is there any nice trixbox module or whatnot that i can put rules on extenisons?

** 2. BLF recommendations please

The current old phone system has BLF.
it shows the status of ALL the lines and ALL the extensions.
I can pick up a POTS that has been put on hold. etc.

What is the best IP phone to replicate this sort of thing?
Aastra 57i ???

Your comments would be much appreciated
Thanks
Thomas

No but there is an unofficial FreePBX modules that allows custom contexts, it works great. Just search on 'custom contexts and FreePBX'

You can't monitor the lines with a BLF, but you can monitor parking lot slots. The Aastra 55i/57i run an application displays the caller ID of all parked calls and you can select the one to pickup. You can also map lights to as many parking slots as you need and label them 'park 1', 'park 2' etc. Then assign a key marked park so the users can park a key with one touch.

The Astra 9143's have 7 programmable buttons, users love them. I suggest the 9143's for general users and 55i's for the Managers/Execs.
