Fail over from VoiP lines to ISDN.

Heya folks.

First post from me. Please be gently with me.

Im running a Trixbox CE system 2.6.2.2 on a Dell PowerEdge R300 Server.
At present all is running fine :)

Im now looking at installing a Fail Over system on this box. So should the voip line fail. Calls will be routed out via ISDN.

I need an ISDN card to do this, but after speaking to some suppliers this seems to be a bit of a minefield.
Many are reluctant too sell me a card without a make and model from me as if wrong it wont work.

Would anyone be able to tell me which card i should be getting for the above system which would work for the intended purpose??

Many thanks for your time.

Andy

Andy, Just want to be sure I

Andy,

Just want to be sure I understand. You are routing calls outbound via VoIP. You also have an ISDN ckt? Bri or Pri? You want to purchase a card to install into your trixbox in order to have a failover route from your VoIP to your ISDN ckt...correct?

OpenVox carries both Bri and Pri cards. I am a distributor for them and I would be happy to talk with you further offline if the above scenario is correct in your desired outcome. You can e-mail me at sales@bullzeyenetworks.com

You just need to know 2

You just need to know 2 things -
What type of ISDN - ISDN2 (BRI) or ISDN30 (PRI)
and whether its PCI or PCIx slot in your machine.

Then just get the right card for your spec!
Openvox will work fine, however I would recommend sangoma - there are already RPMs for TB and the setup is very simple.

Many thanks.

Heya again chaps thanks for your responses.

Yes there are already ISDN lines in place for this.
They are ISDN2 (BRi)

So im guessing i need a card to match this??

Its a dell r300 server and it has 2x PCI Express slots.

That everything that needs to be known??

hubes73 has a website up now

hubes73 has a website up now http://bullzeyenetworks.biz, I recently purchased my first openvox card from him, he shipped it next day and i'm due to be receiving it shortly. So far the experience has been great. If money is no object, go for Sangoma or Rhino. With a little tweaking Openvox cards should work just fine from what i've read about them.
