This looks awesome I have

This looks awesome I have been playing with it over the last week and have seen the elusive module mentioned in the article. Remember like trixbox FreePBX also can seriously use help from the community in the form of documentation, Cash and services purchased. Support put in to the FreePBX project does directly affect the trixbox project. Infact as you will see in trixbox 2.6 allot of the new FreePBX toys. These things don't happen automagicly please support the developers so they can continue.

As mentioned, we have

As mentioned, we have Released FreePBX 2.4.0 which means you can upgrade your existing trixbox. Take a look at the post, it covers a summary of many of the new features. We are actively testing the 2.3 to 2.4 Upgrade Module which we will publish within a few days, so far the feedback has been positive. You can review the above thread to see how it is going.

2.3 to 2.4 Upgrade Tool Module is ready

You can now check for online updates if running 2.3 and use the upgrade tool to get yourself to 2.4. Have fun with the new and improved FreePBX 2.4.0 with everything you have now plus LOTS more!

I am trying to use the

I am trying to use the Upgrade to 2.4 tool and I am having the following problem:

I click on the Upgrade bar.
I go back to the modules page and click Check for Online Updates.
At this point, there should be an update showing for FreePBX framework to 2.4 but I am showing FreePBX Framework is Enabled and Up-To-Date at 2.3.1.3.

I had made a backup before starting the upgrade so I restored back to that. Any help?

I ran into this on trixbox as well...

Read this whole thread before taking action!

I got no updates to Framework too. Not to worry, I went to:

http://www.freepbx.org/support/documentation/installation/upgradi...

And followed the directions to download the whole tarball and install that way. I did use the --force-version=2.3.1 option.

All is well now.

James, please edit and

James,
please edit and correct your post or you will get people into a lot of problems. If you set the version to 2.4.0 then the new framework is going to skip some upgrade steps that do various conversions to handle differences on the new version. If the upgrade module is not bumping the version number then something is really wacky (because it is not doing much more then what you wrote but it is not setting it to 2.4.0). The best thing to do if something is so whacked out on your system that you are having strange behavior is to do exactly what cosmicwombat said and go get the tarball.
The fact that there have been about 550 upgrades done with the new Upgrade Module and almost dead silence wrt to issues would indicate that it is going very smoothly - since this was just introduced 24 hours ago. If there was a general issue, it would be all over the forums.

Followed Directions from 2.4 Upgrade Tool

I followed the directions from the tool and everything upgraded fine. Here is a link to more detailed instructions with pretty pictures included.

I have upgrade five systems so far with no issues with the Upgrade Mod.

I did have an issue on one of my slower machines, originally imaged with TB 2.0, where I had to change the default restrictions in php.ini for the variable memory_limit from 64MB to 80MB. My web pages wouldn't load until I bumped this setting and restarted the service httpd.

I probably could have also change the max_execution_time from 30 to 45 seconds to complete the processing of my many installed modules that had to be upgraded on a PIII 800Mhz system. Instead though, I found that I could simply re-run the remaining upgrades from the Mod Admin frame and it completed them with no issues. Then clicked Apply Changes and was good to go!

I have no idea what modern TB 2.x limits are set to as my distro was a bit dated at as I said above 2.0. Before anyone asks, I have kept Asterisk 1.2.x up to date as well as FreePBX and it is running a fully patched version of CentOS 4.5 on this production system by the way.

Line 226 in my php.ini file

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; Resource Limits ;
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

max_execution_time = 30
max_input_time = 60
memory_limit = 80M

Hope this might help someone enjoy the upgrade. Great job FreePBX team on the new module upgrade path. I really appreciated the dynamic updates as I went through the process.

/br

I don't know how to get rid of those "<'br>'" things so just ignore them. It most have something to do with the input filter.

If someone tells me how to fix them I'll edit that post and clean it up.

Thanks,

WAudette...

Problem once upgraded..

So I Installed the update without a problem, but now i'm having some functionnality problem.

In Misc Applications, you removed the Custom App box, which makes it impossible for me to do any testing on some custom code I'm writing without some annoying editing.

One nice thing is the qaddition of languages, I was waiting for that one for a long time, tho the bad part about it, is it's only half implemented, afaik you only put a language box at the extension level, which would make me edit all my extensions one by one to get a global language on instead of english. You should implement it at every level, one in the General settings, one on each trunk (channel/trunk too?) and finally one on each extension which is already implemented.

Voicemail Blasting seems to work pretty well so far.

Support

What does installing FreePBX 2.4 mean as far as support of trixbox 2.2.12? I'm running CE, but I don't want to break anything.
