HELP upgrade to 2.8 line 0: Unable to open master device '/dev/zap/ctl' TDM400P

I have tried every link I can see on the subject new and old but nothing worked
yum install zaptel
…
Package zaptel-1.4.12.9-1_trixbox.i686 already installed and latest version

anyone else got the same and found away around it

trixbox 2.8 does not use

trixbox 2.8 does not use zaptel it uses asterisk 1.6 w/ DAHDI.

Zaptel renamed to DAHDI

Ok I understand I missed the memo, Zaptel renamed to DAHDI (my box has been humming along for a year or so not needing any action and the first install was quite painless)
but reading all this did not seem to lead me to how to fix it , ? Surly everyone who upgrades is going to Lose contact with the TDM card ?

setup-pstn does not help

From read futher setup-pstn was to be away forward but still errors

USe 2.8 not 2.6

I did a fresh intall of 2.8 and the Zaptel was replaced DAHDI
hard to beleave I am the only guy seeing this

But now I have no Trunks in the FOP ??
