Linux kernel for Trixbox

Hi,

I have installed trixbox version 2.8.0.3 which apparently uses the Linux kernel 2.6.18-164.11.1.el5xen.

First question: what is the difference between the xen and the non-xen version?
Second question: why 2.6.18-164.11.1.el5xen and not 2.6.18-164.11.1.el5?

Where can I get the devel package: kernel-xen-devel.i686 for 2.6.18-164.11.1.el5 ?

Using yum, I am getting:

[trixbox1.localdomain kernels]# yum list | grep kernel | grep xen
kernel-xen.i686 2.6.18-128.1.10.el5 installed
kernel-xen.i686 2.6.18-164.11.1.el5 installed
kernel-xen-devel.i686 2.6.18-128.1.10.el5 installed

...

When to use virtualization

Any reason why one would pick the xen version of the kernel over the normal one, when performing an install on an actual physical machine?

The kernel with the words XEN is for the XEN virtual server. If you are not using the xen server then use the normal one.

Why would I be using the XEN server? Any advantages to it? Or is it just to run multiple virtual machines on one physical machine?

but I would not recommend using it unless you are using XEN.
