Hi,

Am I going nuts, I thought I saw a comment from KerryG somewhere recently about a new release of TrixBox (with Asterisk 1.4.5) this weekend but can't find the comment anywhere.

Was I dreaming?

trixbox 2.4 will be based on CentOS 5, Asterisk 1.4, and FreePBX 2.3. We are having a few issues still but are hoping for a beta early next week.

Great - I am not going nuts!

Oh, that is also good news about the new version of TrixBox.

For What it is worth.
You guys are doing a great job - I get frustrated with TrixBox at times too (eg I can't get FreePBX 2.3.0 Beta 1 working yet even with Phillipe's help) but the point is this SW is free and therefore you live with it or go spend money on a commercial one. But then this is also part of the "enjoyment" of this.

Great news, can't wait. I was thinking of installing those things from scratch but it's so much easier just to install Trixbox.

Maybe you were thinking about the 2.2.1 ISO?

I remember a posting about an ISO of 2.2.1 being released "Really Soon Now" that appeared somewhere on the web but not here. Then there was a posting by Kerry about it having problems and to wait for 2.2.2 which also seems to be delayed...

Heck, I'm pretty happy with plain ol' 2.2 with updates from the usual sources, but I also am (not so) calmly waiting for the 2.4 beta so I can start pounding on it. Until then I'll just sit in the corner twitching.

Did some YUM updates and got the 2.2.3 Guicore

Looks really good - It also seems like it is faster - could be just me.

Greg

P.S. - Posted a success story for an install we did today - Trixbox is SO much better than the Digital stuff we used to sell/install!

OK, just to know...

Will there be any advantage to downloading and installing the trixbox 2.2.3 ISO over using 2.2 except for having a lot less to download/upgrade?

Thanks.

Nope. Our goal is at the beginning of every month we post an updated ISO that has all the current CentOS patches and updates to Asterisk/Zaptel/FreePBX etc so it is less to upgrade on an install.

Perfect!

That's what I wanted to know. I'd hate to have to download a new ISO when I probably already have what's in there.

Thanks for the update on the update status. (redundant, I know...)

problems wth trixbox 2.2.3

Hi.
i'm a newie in the world of trixbox and my english is poor (sorry, i'm spanish.)

I had a problem with my trixbox when my telephone company change a pstn line. All calls have a lot of echo, and fxotune no work well.
At those moments, i had trixbox 2.2.2, with asterisk 1.2 and zaptel driver 1.2

I update my version of trixbox to the 2.2.3. Now, i have asterisk 1.4.6 and zaptel driver 1.4, and echo problems finish (i used fxotune). In all moment, my freepbx version is the 2.2.1

My extensions have configurated the recording options, (record incoming always), but from the update, my trixbox doesn't register any calls, and cdr report doesn´t show any record.

I don't have any idea what happen

Thanks for all

How much pain

So, will the 2.4 upgrade be in situ, or "blow the system away" and start again...

2.4 will be a "fresh

2.4 will be a "fresh install" as it is a new version of the OS and moves all kinds of install pieces into RPMs to make our life easier. For existing installs, you can upgrade via the package manager to Asterisk 1.4 and FreePBX 2.3.

Because there is a

Because there is a difference between the versions of FreePBX, what I would do is to upgrade the existing system to the same version as the new box, then do a backup and the restore should be fine.

CentOS Version

So the current 2.2.3 ISO is based on what version of CentOS - same hardware-picky old one or the latest version (CentOS 5)?

The 2.2 series is CentOS

The 2.2 series is CentOS 4

The 2.4 series (which will start with 2.3 beta) will be CentOS 5.

Safest Journey Home Eva

Have the safest trip home (I hope you have a grand security detail to ensure that), and when you get home please remember I am still pacing in front of my computer while I refresh it every 5 minutes as I wear out the floor under my feet. Actually, I am knee deep into the ground I pace on right now.

Well that sucks.

I just finished downloading this less than a half hour ago... I haven't even had a chance to burn it to CD. (But it's good that they caught the bug quickly)

Oh well, I guess I'll get the next version when it's available.

I'm guessing that they don't know.

It'll be up when they figure out what happened to the installer and fix it.

Maybe tomorrow?

trixbox beta 2.3 centos 5

Hi
I have a dell dimension e520 and had some problems installing trixbox 2.2.3 due to the centos version included butI did install centos 4.5 and asterisk 1.4 and freepbx with no issues.

I'd rather run the trixbox package, any idea when the beta with centos 5 will be available for download?

Thanks
Lee
