outbound rules not working??

Hi all, I have few calling codes that recently has changed, not sure if you guys can help me...

Here's what I want to do:

Anybody that dials 588XXXXXXXXX, I want it to automatically switch it out to 5838. (not the XXXX because some phone numbers are longer than the other). Here's what I've tried that didn't work.

588.|5838.

Not sure what that's not working, please help...

Can I do 588|5838+.? what if I have phone numbers that are smaller than the amount of X's you got above?

I tried doing:
Thu, 02/26/2009 - 6:55pm

I tried doing: 130066+01166588|5838+.

and it didn't work..... please help...
