Where can I get a static IP address? I was told try ISPs. I tried GoDaddy, but I could not make him understand (I too am a newbie). He said that a hosting plans have fixed IPs. My question: Is getting a static IP same as getting a hosting Plan. If so, could I use GoDaddy or any one has another economic suggestion? Thanks

You must already have an ISP, how are you accessing the Internet right now? Which company is providing your Internet service at home? Cable TV company? Local phone company? Call them and ask them how much it would cost to get a static IP address for your Internet service.
