So I just started to test Teliax over sip
Here are my first impressions/depressions
Positive
- I am using the NYC server- ping times are 4 to 6 ms from my office
- Sales rep was very polite and knowledgeable
- I can use 4 other servers of there's for redundancy
- Call quality is 100% perfect
- No DTMF issues whatsoever
- Fair user portal
- Knowledgeable support reps
- 24/7 support available in case one day I realize a major DID outage or whatever the case is, and I can prove it is not coming from my end
- I can set auto refill once the account hits $1.00, rather then what all other companies do- $10 minimum
- Again, I am VERY satisfied with their support
- So far everything looks really good. They say porting takes 10 business days. Much better than everyone else who takes 30 days
- Sales rep claims t.38 support for incoming faxes. Haven't got the chance to test outbound yet but tomorrow it will be used in a production environment.
Downside:
- A little headache to set up. I had to add type=peer and context=from-trunk to the PEER Details or outgoing calls wouldn't work
- They say they support CID name. I only have one DID with them (I am waiting for the others to get ported) and incoming calls only show CID number. Anyone know why?
- Internal calls (teliax-to-teliax) are not routed appropriately on the other end. I can set each DID with its own inbound route, and regular external calls work great. However, when another teliax user calls in, it will go to the "catch all" account. We have a major problem here. We have 2 companies on the same server- so if someone else using teliax calls our DID, regardless, it will go to the primary company. Is there a way I can fix that? Maybe it only happened since I called myself from the "sub account" from my other server? Please advise on this one. Otherwise I'll call them first thing in the morning.
