hi guys

I was just wondering whether it is possible to run Trixbox and a groupware application such as openexchange (including email scanning + antispam + squid ) on the same Box.

Is it scalable ? did someone already install this kind of server for one of his customer ?

if yes I would appreciate any doc or info about it.

thanks for you help

Not a good idea

Asterisk is real-time - if there is a spike in system usage, and it can't grab a bunch of resources RIGHT NOW, then you will have problems.

I run linux-based anti-spam solutions - they do a lot of work, so put them on a seperate box. Actually, a typical MS Exchange 2007 server that we sell has enough extra horse power to run a VMWare-based linux spam filter (custom developed by myself, of course) with ease.

And forget OpenExchange - Exchange 2007 from Microsoft is vastly superior to any of the open source offerings. This is based on lots of real world experience, of course ;)

Uh oh, I just opened a flame can, didn't I? :) That is fine - I am not biased towards any particular OS - I am one of those geeks who likes the best tool for a particular job, regardless of Windows, *nix, or OS X.
