Re: the trixbox handbook?

Im just building our internal manual for trixbox - I will post it on here over the weekend.

It is a complete end-to-end manual from putting the CD in to making a call. It includes how to test and diagnose.

If there is anyone willing to try it before I post it online - PM me and I will send you what I have so far.

Cheers
B!

Re: the trixbox handbook?

Just click on my name - and send me your email address I will then send you the manual that I have up to now.

There will not be any providers listed up to now - that is not the aim of the installation manual. All it will do is show you how to do the install step by step.

There are so many providers out there now it is not an easy task. What I would suggest - if anyone knows an easy way to do this. (Andrew - can you advise on this one?)

An area somewhere in trixbox.org that we can go in and add the voip providers we use as individuals and details etc.

Your trixbox version:
Your freePBX version:
Voip provider name:
Voip provider site:
Protocol: IAX2
Settings used:

If the provider supports more than one protocol - then this would be listed as two providers. This would show who the provider is - and then the config that is KNOWN to work with that provider, what do you think?

Re: the trixbox handbook?

That would really be great to have a list of settings for each provider all in the one location instead of trawling the web for possible matches.

Maybe a seperate sub-forum for this?

Cheers, Des.

Re: the trixbox handbook?

how about some sort of wiki or some place that we can have all the settings etc. eg have a link that says settings for broadvoice then have the settings under that link or something like that. just a thaught. anyways I also think having all in 1 place for the different settings would be a good thing to have. the old asterisk at home had something simular I don't see why trixbox couldn't have something like that. thanks hank

Wiki Trixbox Handbook?

How about just putting up a wiki. I suggest one that requires registration before editing to avoid at least some of the nonsense that comes with smaller wikis. Personally, I prefer MediaWiki (http//www.mediawiki.org).

If we go with one, I'd be happy to port over AAH "stuff" to it to get the ball rolling.

Re: Wiki Trixbox Handbook?

Yes, Wiki please.
Why overwork the developers on documentation when many users already know much of what is needed. Wiki is better then forum- that should be obviuos from AAH ;)

Re: the trixbox handbook?

If it's any help to anyone, after several installs on varying setups so far we generated a quick-and-dirty install guide for the moment covering some of the more egregious issues. In case it helps anyone:

Manual to help configure the Trixbox CE email me please

GC Thomas
Can any body help out there that already use any manual for configuration of Trixbox CE, I had manage to read a lot of informations on the web for configuration, but unfortunately it not working well, the only thing I can do is to receive call on my sip hard phone, and making call out from my siphard phone.
I want to be able to use my sip hard phone to make internal call to other extensions on that same network, and soon.
I don't know which is the best manual to buy for step by step deep configuration of trixbox?
If any one have a manual in PDF file to send me .. please send to the following email: westkings@hotmail.com

Thanks
