Hi there
I recently installed TrixBox on a virtualbox virtual machine.
As one might expect, i got hit by timing issues: choppy sound, clock synchronization problems, etc...
I got a few clues by installing the guest additions for VirtualBox
Basically, what this does is that it tells the guest system "you've been fooled, you're not running on real hardware but in a virtual environment" and to cope with some shortcomings, one of the beeing that the virtualized hardware clock may not be running too well.
But with no success, still ugly choppy sound. However: it makes sense to install the guest additions.
What solved my problem was the following:
There seem to be problems with ACPI in virtual machines in the linux kernel used in TrixBox 2.8.
So the workaround I used was simply to disable ACPI (yeah... it's not REALLY a solution, but it's an acceptable workaround for me)
So, I went into the Virtualbox manager, selected the "settings" of my TrixBox, and under "system" Ie unchek the box "enable ACPI". Awaywent my choppy sound problems... The system's been running fine for two weeks now.
Hope it lasts!
Good luck to you!
