Hi guys, I currently have an IAX trunk from Voiptalk in the UK.
We have a number of legacy 0870 numbers (more than 5) which we can overlay free of charge onto any local phone number (such as the one we have from Voiptalk). We are looking to have these all overlayed onto Voiptalk and use inbound routes to control them based on which original number the call came in on (eg sales, support, admin).
I'm interested in the most efficient way to achieve this... I could of course get more than one number from Voiptalk, overlay each 0870 with a different Voiptalk number however setting up loads of trunks seems messy to me (took me ages to get the first one working!).
Can I use DDIs to do this... something like:
"020 7043 3490" 201
"020 7043 3490" 202
"020 7043 3490" 203
And overlay each of my company 0870 numbers onto one of these?
What I dont want to do is have to use an auto attendant menu to direct calls as my boss thinks its a turn off...
The second question is redundancy. At the moment 0870 lines will hunt if they hit an engaged tone. I would like it if we could have them rollover to a landline if our local PBX is not available. However if I take our pbx down I hear a "dialled incorrect number message" and it does not roll… any ideas?...
Many thanks in advance for your advice.
