If my sip connection is idle for about 10 min. I can no longer dial into my trixbox, if I preform a sip reload I can dial back in but it will eventually time out. I have a feeling it has something to do with my peer details. Is there anything in this setup I should change?

type=peer
externip=xx.xx.xx.xx
nat=yes
username=myusername
fromuser=myusername
secret=mypassword
host=iad.telasip.com
qualify=yes
fromdomain=iad.telasip.com
canreinvite=yes
sendrpid=yes
insecure=very
context=from-pstn
disallow=all
allow=ulaw&gsm

Telasip Trunk Have to preform a sip reload

Just in case anyone else has a similar problem I thought I would post the solution. I was testing the setup using VMWare server. When I installed on a physicall computer with the same config everything worked fine.

does the physical computer have a real (public) IP address?

if so, this sounds like some kind of NAT issue?

The firewall is using nat

The firewall settings are the same as before. The only thing that changed was a new install of trixbox on a physicall server, with the same ip address as the VMWare server. Not sure what the root cause of the problem is but I just wanted to put this out there incase anyone else had a similar issue.

I have a similar issue,

I have a similar issue, every 36 hours or so, I see that my telasip account is stuck in a not "Registered" state. I am on real hardware, and behind NAT. I've been using trixbox CE long before it's been called trixbox, so this isn't my noobishness either. I don't have this issue with my other SIP providers either, not even with the "free" ones, like Gizmo or Ekiga.

Even though telasip gets stuck in this condition, issuing a "sip reload" always gets things back to normal. To be honest, I suspect it's a combination of 2 things. First of all, there is some defect on the telasip side, that is causing occasional timeouts or authentication failures. Heck, it could be even something on my side, an occasional Internet outage, that my monitoring system doesn't detect. But, I don't have a problem with my other providers. In any event, Asterisk should be smart enough to notice that things either failed or timeout, and reattempt the registration. But, it doesn't appear to be doing so. And I think that's where the problem actually lies.
