CISCO SIP Conversion Errors...

Help!!!

I have followed the instructions posted previously to upgrade 2 CISCO 7940's from SCCP to SIP 7.3.

I was having some difficulty in following the process and then the light bulb came on to what I was missing. The TFTP was my issue, pointing to the wrong TFTP server.

However, I am now getting the following error message on the screen of the 7940's when they boot up.

Universal Application Loader

Configuring IP

Protocol Application Invalid

Any ideas on what I am missing NOW?

Any suggestions as to what I should look at would be greatly appreciated as I have about 40 more units I would like to put into service, but I don't want to mess with them anymore until I can get these 2 working properly!!!

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Re: CISCO SIP Conversion Errors...

Do you know how to access your TFTP server logs so you can see what files are being requested? Usually it is a case problem (XMLDefault.cnf.xml instead of XMLDefault.CNF.XML) or something like that. Also, hideously ancient sccp firmwares have some problem with file naming conventions and you have to fiddle with it.

I have a complete working config and went through a lot of this chaos that worked fine for some incredibly old 7940s I purchased ages ago. The key will be looking at the TFTP server logs I think to see what is being request and what you are missing.

Re: CISCO SIP Conversion Errors...

Thanks for the response. I will give the TFTP Log files a look to see if they tell me anything.

I will post what they show so that someone might be able to help me.

Thanks again all.

Re: CISCO SIP Conversion Errors...

Hi,

I am now having difficulties in finding the log files in the TFTP server.

I have been able to FTP into the directory as root. But I can't find any log files. Any idea as to where I would find them?

Also I can post or email my configuration files to anyone who would like to have a look at them to see what I am doing wrong. It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
