Hi
I have two 7960's that I cannot access the settings button (pressing it does nothing). Because of this I cannot change (also do not know the existing) TFTP port. I have defaulted them to factory defaults and erased the network config. None of this did anything. Resetting the phone allways ends up with Protocol Application Invalid. I have other 7960's on this server and some polycoms 330 and 501's all working without problems. Does anybody know how I can change the TFTP address or any other way to access the cisco phones menu. Any suggestions are welcome I have run out of Ideas, has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks.
Ian

Have you tried...

IanMcG,

Have you tried setting up DHCP option 150 on your DHCP server? Option 150 is Cisco's special TFTP entry in the DHCP records side. If your phone is grabbing an IP automatically, you can try setting this option on your DHCP server to force your phone to look at your trixbox.

Just an idea, I've never tried it myself. Let me know if it works!
