I've got a new Cisco 7970 and it's not registering with the asterisk server. The phone says registering and eventually times out. I've looked through the logs on the server and I see the extension registers then unregisters. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Still doesn't work, but I am getting more entries in the asterisk log files:

Peer '200' is now REACHABLE! (29ms / 2000ms)
-- Got SIP response 400 "Bad Request" back from 192.168.1.111
Peer '200' is now UNREACHABLE! Last qualify: 32

I am using SIP Firmware 8-2-2SR2 on the 7970

thanks,

For starters go back to the

For starters go back to the 8-0-2SR1S firmware. The "Bad Request" is due to a code mismatch in chan_sip and the Cisco firmware that breaks the MWI.

Are you trying to register the phone through a NAT? If so, I don't know of one soul who has gotten a 7970 to work through a NAT.

I have a 7970 working through NAT but it was not fun by any stretch of the imagination. Just getting it working locally was a bitch as well. Make sure you edit the extension and set NAT=never

I've gotten the 7970

I've gotten the 7970 registering now, still using the 8-2-2SR2 Firmware. I ended up using the endpoint manager to generate the configs and everything went well. MWI stil isn't working though. I did have to change nat=yes to nat=never.

Thanks

I can get it to signal a call or place a call, but I can't get any audio regardless of what settings I use.

Could post your cisco XML

Could post your cisco XML config files and the firmware that you are using?

We made the cisco 7971G work with asterisk even behind the NAT.

Thanks
