Hi All

I have a site with 80 odd extensions and the receptionist would like to have a wireless headset. What are the options. she currently has a Cisco 7960 phone on her desk.

Please let me know what would best suit this situation. I was thinking about a bluetooth headset and get her to use the Xlite softphone.

Any ideas welcome

Ryan

We use Plantronics CS-55,

We use Plantronics CS-55, CS-50

Look on ebay for best prices. Plus you'll need a headset lifter if the receptionist wants to answer her phone when away from desk.

Does the phone have a wireless headset?

Does the phone have a wireless headset or are you using an addon device?

Thanks

Plantronics?

I got the standard 510SL without the lifter. I was told that I MAY not have to get the lifter because it has "HHC" that will tell the 7960 that something picked up the line. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm just putting that out there...

...I'll let you all know tomorrow.

Jabra 9350e with HHC cord & cisco 7960

I am using a Cisco 7960 and a Jabra 9350e headset. I love the headset, but I have not been able to configure the phone to answer calls remotely via the headset button. I have the Jabra HHC cord that hooks into the AUX port on the phone, but no luck.
I have used some of the Plantronics CS-55s and they seem to be nice. You will need the handset lifter though..
Using the Cisco 7960s I've not found a way to remotely answer without a handset lifter... :( although I hear the newer models have this feature...
Hope this helps!

Alan

I have the Jabra 9350e

I have the Jabra 9350e plugged directly into the headset port on my Grandstream 2010 phone. It doesn't allow for remote answer in that configuration because the Grandstream doesn't support HHC in the same way as the Jabra HOWEVER, it came with the lift kit which would overcome that problem provided I knew my phone was ringing. In my case I'm at my desk so I just use the Headset button on the phone as it's easier than the buttons on the phone.

This same headset can be plugged into USB for use with a softphone.
