configure FXO port to be outbound only?

Currently I have a single POTS line connected to a Rhino 4-port FXO card. The other three ports are empty. Also have a SIP trunk via Broadvoice. Everything works great, calls are answered and I set it up with the telco so that if the POTS line number rings busy, it hunts to the SIP DID number. Works like a charm.

The question is: I am having a second POTS line installed tomorrow. This is intended to be a dedicated fax number, so a fax machine will be sitting on the line set to auto-answer. So obviously it would probably screw things up to have Trixbox trying to answer on that line as well as the fax machine. However, I would like to be able to use the line for outbound calling only in the event the first POTS line is tied up. Not terribly worried about the busy signal someone would get trying to fax if the line were in use for a voice call as I don't receive many faxes.

Any way I can set up Trixbox to only answer incoming calls on the original POTS line but to add the secondary POTS line to the "pool" of available outbound ports?

Many thanks.

My 2 cents

I'm an absolutely newbie to TB - but based on my limited understanding - I think if you just don't set-up the Inbound Route for the 2nd POTS line (In bound routes are set-up based on CID - and so to NOT setup an Inbound route for the second POTS, your existing Inbound Route should only have the CID of your first POTS line) you should be able to achieve what you want to. Somebody, please correct me if I'm wrong.

cheers!

Also you could just get the

Also you could just get the carrier to force block the outgoing caller ID on that new line, so that if no one knows the number it wont be called anyway yeah?? Or if there is a charge for that, I think you can insert outgoing CLI block overide code in front of every call on that route cant you, like 1831 or something like that in AUS

Your new fax line would be

Your new fax line would be attached to the relevant Trixbox fxo port, as outbound-only as long as the Trixbox setup allows, that's clear to me.
But, in the same time, how do you figure the fax machine to answer to incoming calls that Trixbox disallows?
