Digium TDM410P Outwards Trunks

Hi All,

I have one minor issues with my TDM410P.
It is configured with 3x FXO cards and an Echo Canceller card.

I have only one PSTN line connected to the first FXO port on the card, and that works great both inwards and out.
The problem I have is that I can't get outwards calls to work on the other two FXO ports. When I connected the phone line to the other FXO ports then inwards calls and handled correctly, but outbound calls don't work.

I suspected that I needed to manually add another trunk for outwards calls so I did, but I wasn't really sure what I was doing. I thought logic would dictate that all I had to do was to add another ZAP trunk and increase the "ZAP Identifier" by one (So from g0 for the working port to g1 for the next port), but that didn't work so I was clearly incorrect.

What I intend on doing is purchasing a GSM gateway that will be connected to one of the FXO ports (likely the 3rd one) so that when I am out of the office I can use it to route incoming calls to my cellphone cheaply. I also want to be able to configure the 2nd port so that I can connect a second PSTN line to the system later down the track.

From what I understand, I need two more trunks, one for each FXO card, so that I can then specify these in my outgoing rules.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get this working, or point out what I am doing wrong? Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

I Solved My Own Problem

Hi All,

I found out what I was doing wrong so I thought I would share.

As it turns out, the g0 Trunk that was created automatically is a generic trunk that uses the first available FXO interface. You can add new trunks into the system to specify the specific FXO port/s that you want each outwards route to use. All you have to do is create a new ZAP trunk and then set the ZAP Identifier to the port number (On my card 1-4). Simple. Then just take the g0 Trunk out of your routes (unless you want it there) and or delete the g0 Trunk if you don't intend on using it.

I hope that helps someone.

The correct way is to add

The correct way is to add the trunks into the group in the appropriate zapata of DAHDI config.

Does that come in english.

For those of us less familiar with your language, would you mind explaining that with a little more details as to what the correct way of doing this is?

Have I done it incorrectly?
