PSTN line busy after IVR picks up

I have just setup my first trixbox system and I am loving what I see so far. Nevertheless, I am having 2 issues.

System Setup

  • Digium AEX2400P with 2 FXO and 2 FXS
  • The first 8 port on my breakout box are connected to the FXS and the next 8 port (port 9 to 16) is connected to the FXO
  • There are 5 PSTN line in port 9 to 13.
  • There is one analog phone plugged in the port 2.
  • There are 12 IP phones connected registered on the system
  • All call coming in are answered by a 45 second IVR

The first problem I notice happens whenever calls come in on any of the PSTN lines, the IVR will answers the call but if I was to end the call without attempting to use any of the IVR options, I notice the line will stay busy until the IVR terminates the call. In essence, if I end the call after 1 second, the line will remain busy for about 50 seconds (45 secs for IVR main menu and 5 secs waiting for response).
What can I do to get around this?

My second issue is if a call is transferred to the analog phone plugged into port 2, the system sometimes freezes. I also notice that the system will freeze if I make external calls with the analog phone.

For your disconnect issue,

For your disconnect issue, make sure your provider has DISCONNECT SUPERVISION turned on! Call them and make sure it is!

For issue 2, this may be several issues (possibly faulty card). Please paste a full call log, and also include a copy of your /var/log/asterisk/messages.

I have reconnected an analog

I have reconnected an analog phone and waiting for the error.
As soon as it shows itself again, I will post the log.

Thanks for the answer.

I system crashed again today

I system crashed again today when a call came in on the analog phone.
Where or how would I access these log files?

/var/log/asterisk

In the directory /var/log/asterisk you can find all the log files. Take the 'full' log file and you can paste its contents or just the host the file someplace where it can be downloaded & examined.

cheers!
