Folks,

A few of you have reported that the HUDlite server did not start when you installed trixbox Pro. Others have reported that the HUDlite server *did* start, but upon reboot it did not restart. These two issues are both HUDlite related and do not impact HUD Pro.

Both of these issues were due to certain start-up conditions on certain types of servers. We have now resolved these two issues with a patch to astwatch.pl.

We have just finished pushing this patch to everyone's server. So if your server is online you should already have received it. You don't have to do anything, as it installs automatically. Now, if your server is offline today, don't worry - the next time you connect it to the Net, it will automatically receive the patch and self-install.

Hopefully, this clears up these two (related) issues.

My Hud Lite still not connecting

Al Whittle - Just tried to connect to my hudlite client and still no go. My server is s102093.trixbox.fonality.com . One of my original questions to this matter is this... Will the hudlite client work remotely? I have a VPN to my work network and it doesnt work that way and I have also tried to change my trixbox server name to s102093x.trixbox.fonality.com and that doesnt work either. Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks so much,
Al

This thread is in regard to the HUDlite server not HUDlite clien

Al,

This thread is about the HUDlite *server* not running as a daemon on your trixbox Pro server. That is all that this fix addresses.

Please post your question as a new thread to this forum, so it can get answered. I don't want to confuse the issue of HUDLite service/server not running and "cannot connect with my HUDlite client remotely".

Thanks.

Deron, this is not a HUDlite server issue

Deron,

Hi there. First off, this thread is about the HUDlite server (daemon) not running on some people's trixbox Pro servers, which (per my original post) has now been patched.

I do not believe this is your issue as I just verified that the HUDlite server *is* running on your server. Here is proof:

[trixbox103610 ~]# ps wax | grep hud
14413 ? SNs 2:17 ./hudlite-server uE5rxnzm

[trixbox103610 ~]# ps wax | grep irc
17338 ? Ss 0:04 /usr/local/ircd/bin/ircd

This means that HUDlite *is* running. This must be a connectivity issue or a username/password issue.

If you are trying to connect to HUD as a remote worker (outside your office) you will need port 6600 open. I just verfied via my DOS telnet command that you *do* in fact have this port open. See here:

c:\>telnet s103610x.trixbox.fonality.com 6600

So, a few things:

1. If you are connecting remotely be sure to use the "x".
2. Make sure that the extension's username/pwd you are connecting with has "In Hud?" set to "yes in the extension settings tab of the Admin Panel.
