New trixbox appliance with Pro SE came with Apache errors
I bought a trixbox appliance to support trixbox without paying for EE or CCE. I just need SE. The appliance looks cool, has the Sangoma A200 with 8 FXO's. It was activated by the authorized distributor. When I browse to its local IP, I get the Apache message "Seeing this instead of the website you expected?". On a Dell box, I did an install and have that activated (yes- under a different login number) and it works when i browse to the local IP. Since the Apache server settings are bad, I wounder what else may go wrong. I was hoping to go live this week, but I wounder if I should reinstall first.
The appliance took over 2 weeks to arrive. I called and they said they had hardware problems and it was finally shipping.
I have POE switches and will not be using the PCI 4 port Ethernet card. I have decided to use 6 FXS for faxing and the 2 new Sangoma cards will not fit without removing that PCI 4 port Ethernet card. Could this have caused my software errors?
Hi David,
With trixbox Pro, you do not browse to the local IP address to administor the box, instead you want to browse to http://cp.trixbox.com and login with the credentials that you were provided.
As far as the Sangoma A200 card, you do not need a new PCI card to add 6 FXS ports. Since you already have 8FXO ports you would need to buy 2 Remora cards and 3 FXS modules. The remora card will attach to your current sangoma PCI card. You will have to let who ever you buy it from know that you need the backplane for 4 cards also. Adding the remora cards instead of an additional PCI card will allow you to keep your 4port ethernet card in place.
If you have any other questions feel free to give me a call.
I notice the Dell local Apache is just redirect to CP.trixbox.com, but the trixbox appliance will not!
I understand the Sangoma, but the the trixbox appliance only has 2 PCI slots! The Sangoma was in 1st, then the 4 net PCI card then the remora daughter cards where connected around with the back plane. I will try the 4 net PCI in 1 and then the Sangoma in PCI 2. I did not have a 5 back plane so I could not reach around the 4 net PCI card -Like the appliance was set for. But I can run the 4 net PCI first and then the Sangoma PCI and its 3 Remora boards in a row. I will let this forum know if that fixed anything.
I did get an error without the PCI 4 net card that is working now with it. The private IP still shows Apache default page instead of redirecting.
Without the PCI 4 net card I got the error message "[BE]: Your local server cannot start due to a local configuration issue. This is usually due to an error in zapata.conf or zaptel.conf. Your server will not send or receive calls until this is resolved. " when I would click the extension number in View Extensions tab.
The trixbox appliance LCD shows:
trixbox Pro v1.1.3
Uptime
LAN: 10.116.116.1
WAN: 192.168.1.103
the LAN was blank when the PCI 4 net card was out.
The CP.trixbox.com Status - Upgarde, says my box is 'up to date'.
Make sure to redetect PSTN cards after adding the new remora cards.
I tried the redetect. I swaped cards around untill it was in the 'as-shipped' configuration (4FXO,4net,4FXO) and redect found. I spent hours reading off the Sangoma CD. I still have not found documentation on setting wanpipe1.conf info like
[wanpipe1]
AUTO_PCISLOT = NO
PCISLOT = 0
PCIBUS = 3
TDMV_SPAN = 1
AND zapata.conf ;Sangoma A200 [slot:0 bus:3 span:1]

Where do I find the setup info so I can add my 6 FXS?
Appliance was running old software, web Status- Upgrade did not show any upgrades available. HUD was not installed. The HUD forum says to reinstall/activate.
I used the trixbox Pro CD 2.2 and reactivated - never got it synch with PRO SE 1. I reinstalled under new number - (PS. 133746 can be deleted)
I did not figure out how to use DHCP on the second 4 port switch NIC, so I removed that NIC. HUDlite was not running after install. The HUD documentation is excellent at http://trixbox.org/forums/trixbox-pro/hudlite-hud-pro-trixbox-pro... and HUD is now running.
I am still not happy about how many hours I have spent trying to get the trixbox appliance working with trixbox software from an trixbox AUTHORIZED dealer!
1 week later, I am now going to try to figure out why ALL my certified hardware Sangoma A200 8 FXO / 6 FXS cannot be detected. (4 FXS missing)
