Aastra 5x phones with internal and external IP space question?

As some have seen from prior posts, I have recently started working with some of the Aastra phones, which are working out well so far. I ran into an issue that has me wondering, so figured I'd just post here and ask..

I have the current Aastra XML scripts installed, and of course the current firmware on the phones. So far I had just been configuring them to work on external (real IP space). Now I have a server that is actually in internal space, with a 10.x.x.x address, and of course a firewall that allows some outside sites to connect into the server as well.

If I am correct, the auto-load scripts on the PBX will contain the IP address of the server, so all the XML scripts will have that IP address embedded in the scripts.

So my question is, hows does one handle connecting users to the trixbox PBX when I have both internal and external phones?? As I am guessing the script for provisioning has to be configured for either the internal or external IP address.

Sure some of you are already dealing with this, and how best can I make this all play well together??

Thanks for all input..

Wow, nobody is using an Aastra Phone on a trixbox setup with both Internal IP space, and Public space??

I really expected that to be pretty common?

To any of the Aastra support people on here, are your XML/Setup scripts compatible with multiple IP addresses? When I say that like my internal trixbox is say 192.168.1.1 but outside the firewall it's 208.1.2.3 ??

internal/external

Your router could direct all external tftp requests to one server, while your internal phones would be directed to another via dhcp. Each tftp server would have xml scripts for each phone so that a phone could be moved from internal to external and vice versa.
