We have installed a bunch of 57i and 51i at doctors office.
No they would like to be able to press a button on the phone and have music play.

Yes, it is possible.

Have you tried the included xml music application? Simply load the mp3's on the trix and play them from the app on the phone.

MP3 Player not available for 51i

I am not certain that the MP3 Player application would be the right choice as it plays songs one by one and needs human intervention between each song and also it is not available on the 51i. The other problem using this application is the server CPU load, if you have a lot of users playing music, it will degrade the server performance.

Maybe the solution would be to connect the phone to the MOH and also configure the MOH to be an Internet radio. This will use less resource and I believe fill fit the needs.

Exactly

Just create a simple asterisk application connecting to the MOH behing a number to dial such as 11. It is the easiest way.

The ideal solution (less bandwidth used) would have been to use the multicast RTP streaming feature on the phone and send an Internet radio RTP stream to a multicast address. Maybe we will develop that in a future version of the XML scripts.

streaming works well too,

streaming works well too, tho an XML version would be way better so that the phone is actually in "idle" state instead of "connected" so that incoming calls are heard/noticed properly. Is there such a thing?
