Hi Guys

Hi have a problem, i have a 57i with 2 extensions modules. I have 80 extension to monitoring with BLf, but the phone support a maximum of 50.
Is possible to "watching" extensions with a XML BLF?
And if is possible, do you have a example script?

Thanks in advance for your help

we have 100 ext and had same

we have 100 ext and had same problem. I *think* its an asterisk issue. We gave up and made the buttons speed dials and use hudlite with dual monitors for our front desk

hudlite doesn't like to stay up to much so I put a file called hudbuddy in teh /etc/cron.hourly containing "service hudlite-server restart" chmod 755 hudbuddy and reboot, good to go!

same issue

We have one client who has 140 extensions and wanted to use the Aastra 560M devices to monitor them all. However, the Aastra devices only support 50 BLFs despite having 60 buttons; if you have 2 560M devices (120 buttons total), you still will only have 50 BLFs supported. We have been pressuring Aastra to resolve however according to them we're the only company who is asking. It may be an Asterisk issue afterall, I'm not sure. In the end we did the same as rrust, 50 BLFs and the rest as speeddials with HUDlite on the screen (and yes hudlite loves to crash so we had to create a cron job as well to restart it often).

Properly configured FOP will

Properly configured FOP will do exactly what you want. Both of you guys should look at iSymphony and Astassistant also.

The FOP solution is cool because it is free and you can yet 100 buttons on one screen without crowding it.

You can't put sidecars on

You can't put sidecars on the 30/31i, so the 50 BLF limitation is moot.
I did ask Aastra about this limitation on the 57i (mine locked up with 180 BLFs defined via mac.cfg file and 3 sidecars).
Their response was

Quote:
The 50 BLFs limitation was already brought to our attention and a feature request was submitted on this issue.
At this time, I do not have any information when this feature will be implemented. The expansion modules are there so that other keys besides BLFs can be configured.

Hopefully we'll see expanded BLF support in the future.
In the interim, speeddial/xfer seems to be a suitable replacement, and I've configured FOP for 300 extensions, which required recompiling the SWF in order to have a larger canvas. Unfortunately, this does tend to tax the browser's flash player quite heavily, and causes frequent crashes.

Aastra 50 BLF limit - XML solution?

I also ran into the 50 BLF limit when using 2 560M sidecars. My response from Aastra tech support when asked if any of their phones support more than 50 BLF is "no, 50 BLF is a hardware limit of all Aastra phones". I did see on a forum that a user wrote a XML script that successfully overcame the 50 BLF limit. I have attempted to contact that individual. Has anyone else overcome the limitation using XML?

Thanks!

I agree with SkykingOH

Either use the built in fop, or for only $40.00, (which is a steal if you ask me!) you can get FOP2 which looks and works great.

We have used iSymphony as well and love the product also, there is even a 5 user version that is free for the tighter budget installations. Even the paid versions should not be out of the question for most installations.

We have had the same issues with HUD as everyone as well. We usually restart it at least daily, although we have been shifting most customers to fop2 lately.

Thanks,

Rich -My advice is a bit

Rich -

My advice is a bit dated as AstAssistant project appears DOA.

FOP is underrated and misunderstood. People call themselves integrators and never even look at the configuration for FOP, they just accept the canned config generated by TB.

FOP is amazingly customizable.

FOP (or FOP2)

Scott,

I completely agree,

The functionality that FOP 1 and 2 have are amazing. They even released a FreePBX module that allows for easy configuration of permissions and grouping that makes giving it to different people a breeze. If you do not want some of your agents to have all of the buttons (like listen or whisper and such) all easily achieved from the module.

Even using it for monitoring multiple Asterisk PBX's is a simple task, and again, with the easy grouping options, it is great.
