I am a newbie with a basic question. Our IT guy left us. We have a mixture of Soundpoint IP 330, 550 and 650 phones. We have not been able to find the manuals. When originally set up, the phones were configured with four digit extension numbers according to last name (ex. 3001 for Claus, Santa and 3002 for Blow, Joe and so on). Management has asked if some of the extension numbers can be reassigned according to department.
We are using Asterisk (1.2.23) and I have access to FreePBX (2.3.1.3), EndPoint Manager (1.1.0.27), HUDlite Admin (1.2.0.23) and Config Edit (1.1.0.25). I have used Endpoint Manager to change the extension number, but when the phones are plugged into the system, the extension number for that phone remains the same. I am trying to learn how this all works. Do I need to delete that phone somehow and start over?

You have many issues, you are running ancient versions of the software on very old CentOS.
There could be many reasons why the phones are not picking up the config. The phones need access to the tftp server on your phone system to pull the config.
You have an even bigger problem that trixbox project has been abandoned and direct upgrade paths are not available. Luckily the Asterisk and FreePBX projects are active and vibrant.
Since your business depends on your communications system I suggest you engage an experienced consultant to assist you plan your strategy.
