How to download a Polycom's current configuration files?

Hello,

For the longest time, I've been configuring all of my Polycom phones individually through its web interface. I really need to move to a central provisioning server model so that each phone receives it configuration files upon booting.

How do I download a phone's current configuration files? I need to use those as initial templates for CFG files on the provisioning server. I'm concerned that if I build the CFG files for each phone based on settings I know each phone SHOULD have, I may mis-configure the phones already out there when they are rebooted and download their configurations for the first time.

I'm working with a range of Polycoms: IP SoundPoint 550,560, 600, 601, etc.

Thanks,

Jacob

You cant unless

You cant unless you are running 3.3.0 or higher. However if you did all the config via the web interface the TFTP/FTP/HTTP server in the Admin Menu of the phone should have a MAC_Address-phone.cfg file uploaded with all the changes. If you do not have a server set up, set one up and make a single change via the web and the entire file will be uploaded.

Is it possible to pull a revision off of a phone?

Hi, I am really new to the pbx world, and I am curious if it is possible to pull a revision off of a phone, and load it onto other phones with an older configuration? If not, where can I acquire newer hardware revisions, and how do I load them into trixbox? I am currently loading phones via the tftp function.

Thanks in advance

Will
